I love the beautiful country side in Jatiluwih village. I had another chance to take my client to a medium trekking in the middle of the rice farm in that UNESCO site village. Jatiluwih, indeed offer soothing experience for myself, as I walked among the farm.
The sun shone brightly when I stepped on the track beginning. It was a road toward the farm. Long time ago this road, was the only access for the farmers to transport their rice harvest. I imagine several carts pulled by bufaloes carrying sacks of rice from the farm to the granaries in the farmers' home.
Nowadays, it still function the same, but the road is better. The visitor now could walk along the road to enjoy the view. Some even have motorcycles to ride through the road. For me, walking is a great way to feel the breeze and witness the beauty of the rice terraces and coconut trees.
I noticed this time of the year the rice plants were green. It's probably two months before harvest time. The plants were about 40 centimeter tall, with grains hanging on top of the plants.
I passed through a local stall that sell rice in plastics pack. They probably got the rice from the last harvest. I saw different types or rice: the white rice, the black, and the brown rice. A pack contain of mix between black and white rice.
I took my clients to continue walking after visiting the stall briefly. After the road, we continued to the rice farm paths. This brought us even closer the rice plants.
There were few cows barn with cows relaxing inside them. The cows job only to plough the rice fields. And they would be used by the farmer at the beginning of the planting season. So, they could relax at the moment.
My trek along the road and the rice field path took me about 2 hours. Then, we finished at the place close where we started because the trek was a loop or circle where we start and finish at the same point.
So, that was my wonderful experience trekking in beautiful Jatiluwih village.
