I am so excited to blog about Cambridge, England. This summer I went to Cambridge and took classes as part of an international summer program. It was awesome! I got to stay in the dorms and meet people from all over the world and learn about art history and botany.
Cambridge is a great city. I went to the Botanical Gardens, the Fitzwilliam Museum, the town center, and 5 of the colleges. The university is made up for 31 different colleges that have their own dining hall, dorms, libraries and many have their own gardens and churches.
Cambridge University Botanic Garden
The Botanic Garden is a 24 minute walk from where I was staying. So I didn't get there as much as I would have liked. I did spend a afternoon there are have a wonderful time.

The Fitzwilliam Museum
I went to the Fitzwilliam museum a couple of times while in Cambridge. Once on my own and once with one of my art history classes. It is a great museum with a great mix of art throughout time. The building is gorgeous and the most surprising thing was the juxtaposition of old art with very modern art.

Punting on the river Cam
Punting on the river Cam is a very popular activity. My friend from Utah came into town and so we did it together.

Cambridge Colleges
King's College
The hype was definitely justified for me. The King's college chapel was amazing! It was built in the 1400s and the architecture is wonderful and the stained glass incredible. There are 26 stained glass windows that wrap around the chapel and tell the story of Mary's life.

Madingley Hall
The international student office is run out of Madingley Hall so I made sure that I saw it. I spent a night there. It is a bit further away than some of the other colleges. It was wonderful to stay there. It is a former estate and reminds me of Pemberley! Especially as I first saw it.
Cambridge is a beautiful historic city and school. I enjoyed the architecture, history, greenery, stained glass, and the gelato!
There are many other museums and colleges I would like to see, so I need to go back. :)
