Welcome to Thiruvananthapuram
I was super happy being back in this ancient place. After a warm welcome by my friend Sajin Babu, we visited some beautiful hills and rocks with a view that was close to the city. The way back took us through small jungle and villages, which I found very interesting.
The next morning we went together to the local shop to take some breakfast (some chai and mutam curry, which is egg with rice bread). It was a delicious meal and gave me enough strength for the rest of the day.
Of course, I wanted to visit the famous Padmanabhaswamy Temple in TFT. Besides the majestic temple construction, I found a lot of wood carving artists which were working around the temple. It's amazing to see how precise is their work and how detailed their carvings are!
In the evening, I met Sajin again, and we went out to have a drink, to make plans to visit the Varkala beach the next day.
Early in the morning we took the train and after around 50 kilometres long journey, we reached the place. Varkala is a very touristic place, where lots of hippies and travellers come to enjoy nice beaches, food, and life. I went for a quick swim as the water was looking very refreshing.
Later, Sajin took me to the nearby temple where they had a celebration or a temple festival. All was super colourful. Sajin introduced me to his friend, a president of the temple, who showed us around and later drove us home.
