Greetings, mommies and daddies of this wonderful community! 🤗 On August 11, my son turned 19 years old. At the time, I was out of town for health reasons with my father-in-law. I had been away from home for more than a month and a half, and the thought of not being able to be there for his birthday worried me a lot. I had never been away from my children for so long, and the thought of that day would be painful for me. However, I have learned that you can always find a positive side to situations, so I decided to organize a surprise with the help of my eldest daughter, since my son would not expect it because of the situation we were going through. Although the mood was not the best, because of the situation we were going through, in our family we have always believed that having a birthday is a reason to celebrate, enjoy and, of course, eat cake! I talked to my daughter about how we could surprise her brother, and she went downtown to arrange what we needed. We sent her the money right away, from me I gave her a flannel, lots of goodies that they love and her birthday cake. Her dad, on the other hand, gave her all the necessary school supplies and uniform for her new semester at the university, since she will start her fourth semester of Mechanical Engineering. At midnight on August 11, I made a video call with her grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles and her dad to sing "Happy Birthday" to her. As we were singing, her sister came into her room with the presents. Seeing his happy face, despite our absence, was a moment of gratitude for having him with us for another year and for the gifts he received. The next day, his sister took him to the movies as part of his gift, and before leaving, she surprised him with the cake along with my family, my parents, sister, nephew and brother-in-law. Although they were unable to video call us at the time of singing the birthday, as the power went out, they sent me photos that I am delighted to share with you. Unfortunately, I also failed to capture the first video call. Friends, there is nothing sadder than being away from our children when they still depend on us. But we must always look for ways to make them feel happy and valued on their day. That brought us peace of mind and happiness to know that our son had a day full of surprises and lots of love. ¡Saludos, mamis y papis de esta maravillosa comunidad! 🤗 El 11 de agosto, mi hijo cumplió 19 años. En ese momento, yo me encontraba fuera de la ciudad por motivos de salud con mi suegro. Llevaba más de un mes y medio lejos de casa, y el pensamiento de no poder estar presente en su cumpleaños me preocupaba mucho. Nunca había estado tanto tiempo alejada de mis hijos, y la idea de que ese día sería doloroso para mí. Sin embargo, he aprendido que siempre se puede encontrar un lado positivo de las situaciones, así que decidí organizar una sorpresa con la ayuda de mi hija mayor, ya que mi hijo no se lo esperaría por la situación que estábamos viviendo. Aunque el ánimo no era el mejor, por la situación que estábamos pasando, en nuestra familia siempre hemos creído que cumplir años es una razón para celebrar, disfrutar y, por supuesto, ¡comer pastel! Hablé con mi hija sobre cómo podíamos sorprender a su hermano, y ella fue al centro de la ciudad para gestionar lo que necesitábamos. Le enviamos el dinero de inmediato, de mi parte yo le regalé una franela, muchas golosinas que les encantan y su pastel de cumpleaños. Su papá, por su lado, le dio todo lo necesario de útiles escolares y uniforme para su nuevo semestre en la universidad, ya que comenzará el cuarto semestre de Ingeniería Mecánica. A la medianoche del 11 de agosto, hice una videollamada junto a sus abuelos, primas, tíos y su papá para cantarle "Cumpleaños feliz". Mientras cantábamos, su hermana entró a su cuarto con los regalos. Ver su cara de felicidad, a pesar de nuestra ausencia, fue un momento de gratitud por tenerlo con nosotros un año más y por los obsequios que recibió. Al día siguiente, su hermana lo llevó al cine como parte de su regalo, y antes de salir, lo sorprendió con el pastel junto a mi familia, mis padres, hermana, sobrino y mi cuñado. Aunque no pudieron hacernos la videollamada en el momento de cantar el cumpleaños, ya que se fue la luz, me enviaron fotos que estoy encantada de compartir con ustedes. Lamentablemente, tampoco logré capturar la primera videollamada. Amigos, no hay nada más triste que estar lejos de nuestros hijos cuando aún dependen de nosotros. Pero siempre hay que buscar la manera de hacerlos sentir felices y valorados en su día. Eso nos trajo tranquilidad y felicidad al saber que nuestro hijo tuvo un día lleno de sorpresas y mucho amor.
