Hi, dears! Again, my Sunday in the city flew by with business. I accidentally ended up in the center. Like on another planet. Someone was having fun, someone was suffering. The war goes on. But in the center I saw many young people, because it was the last weekend of this summer and today the new school year began. We have to live in the conditions that are...

And on Saturday, a famous Ukrainian politician, patriot, one of the participants in the Revolution of Dignity of 2014, Andriy Parubiy, was killed in my city. The Kremlin had been hunting him for a long time... Because of this, people's mood was depressed on the Internet and in reality. There were a lot of police cars everywhere in the city:( Every day there are some sad stories.

Well, that was an introduction, so that you understand how much I appreciate moments in the wild. When I found myself in the village today, I sighed with relief. It's calm here. The weather is quite nice and warm, and about a week ago it rained heavily. Therefore, my plans include a trip to the forest for mushroom hunting, and meanwhile I'm sharing with you photos from the last walk... I have a credo. Not all mushrooms are edible, but they are all very beautiful. Well, and useful, I guess... Each one plays its role in nature! Even parasites. They are the forest's orderlies and most often settle on logs and stumps or diseased trees.

I found myself in a remote part of the forest.

That day, in search of boletus, I wandered into a section of the forest where I rarely go. There are many wonderful bizarre stumps there, left after the beech trees were cut down. There is a lot of moss on the ground and on the trees... And although I couldn't find any edible mushrooms there, I came across a clearing with several stumps on which interesting white and brown mushrooms were growing. Trametes versicolor (turkey tail) can be found at every step in this forest. By the way, this mushroom is used in medicine. It is believed that it has antitumor, antibacterial effects and has a good effect on all internal organs. I don't know, I haven't tried it. But I was amazed at how many offers there are on the Internet:)

My old friend Trametes versicolor.

However, the hero of the day today is my new acquaintance, a white mushroom, with a cream shade and an interesting humpbacked shape. It was difficult to take a general photo, but many stumps were overgrown with these mushrooms. They have an interesting shape, uneven, wavy, as if someone had inflated them from the inside. The surface is delicate, velvety, pleasant to the touch. The mushrooms held firmly to the base, so it was difficult to tear them off to check what was underneath. Their hymenophore is white.

I, my friend (due to the photo) and Google Assistant make an assumption that this is Trametes gibbosa. Or its close relative:) In different photos, it is probably the same mushroom, but at different ages. Beech is one of the favorite trees for this beautiful parasite to live. Oh, how they have grown here... And I should move on.
