Saludos queridos cinéfilos, hoy quiero contarles lo bien que la pasé viendo Hermosa Venganza, disfruté todo, su argumento, su música, la fotografía, los diálogos, las actuaciones, el ambiente, los vestuarios. Hermosa Venganza es una película del género thriller, suspenso y comedia negra, mis favoritas y aunque su final fue muy inesperado, le doy un 9 de puntuación. Su final fue inesperado para mí lo cual es bueno porque me sorprendió, pero realmente no me gustó je, je, je, es algo complicado de explicar, pero si lo hiciera estaría dando un spoiler y no quiero arruinar la experiencia de nadie, por lo que contaré exactamente lo que puedes ver en su tráiler y lo que me hizo sentir. Si pensamos en la venganza sabemos que es un mal sentimiento que nos hace cometer errores muchas veces impulsado por el dolor, dicen que la venganza es mala y hay varios refranes sobre ella: “la venganza es un plato que se come frío”, o “la venganza es dulce”, incluso en un famoso programa de televisión de los años 80, su protagonista siempre decía “la venganza nunca es buena mata el alma y la envenena”. Yo intento no tener sentimientos de venganza en mi ser, ni dejarlos crecer, pero confieso que en varias ocasiones he disfrutado de su dulce sabor 😝🤭. Y es que la venganza nace indiscutible de un dolor mal manejado, como lo que le pasó a Cassandra protagonizada por Carey Mulligan, que era una chica sencilla que vivía con sus padres y trabajaba en una cafetería, parecía ser un joven sin sueños ni aspiraciones, pero la verdad es que en un tiempo había querido ser doctora y estudiaba en la universidad, pero pasó por una mala experiencia que le dejó traumas y la obligó a dejar los estudios. Cassandra se volvió amargada y ya no creía en el amor, no confiaba en los hombres debido a esa mala experiencia comenzó a tomar venganza o hacer justicia por sus propias manos, ella solía tener una doble vida, en las noches se transformaba en diferentes mujeres por decirlo de alguna forma, un día podía ser una ejecutiva, otro día una colegiala, e incluso una joven seductora, pero todos sus personajes tenían una misión, entrar en bares y hacerse pasar por una mujer ebria, muy pasada de copas y sola, con el propósito de llamar la atención de algún hombre solidario que quisiera rescatarla, y dependiendo del comportamiento de aquel caballero se convertiría en su víctima o no.

When we think of revenge, we know it's a bad feeling that often causes us to make mistakes, driven by pain. They say revenge is bad, and there are several sayings about it: "Revenge is a dish best served cold," or "Revenge is sweet." Even in a famous television programme from the 1980s, the main character always said, "Revenge is never good; it kills the soul and poisons it."

I try not to harbour feelings of revenge within myself, nor let them grow, but I confess that on several occasions I have enjoyed its sweet taste 😝🤭. The fact is that revenge undoubtedly stems from poorly managed pain, as happened to Cassandra, played by Carey Mulligan, who was a simple girl who lived with her parents and worked in a café. She seemed to be a young woman without dreams or aspirations, but the truth is that at one time she had wanted to be a doctor and was studying at university, but she had a bad experience that left her traumatised and forced her to drop out of her studies.

Cassandra became bitter and no longer believed in love. She did not trust men because of that bad experience and began to take revenge or justice into her own hands. She used to lead a double life: at night she transformed herself into different women, so to speak; one day she could be an executive, another day a schoolgirl, and even a seductive young woman, but all her characters had one mission: to go into bars and pretend to be a drunk woman, very drunk and alone, with the aim of attracting the attention of a sympathetic man who would want to rescue her, and depending on that gentleman's behaviour, she would become his victim or not.

Creo que todas las mujeres en algún momento de nuestras vidas hemos sido este personaje de Cassandra, en el momento que el alcohol nos ha vuelto un poco vulnerables y aunque estemos rodeados de amigos, en ese instante se conoce quienes tienen buenas o malas intenciones y deciden aprovecharse de la vulnerabilidad. Me vi reflejada en ese personaje y por eso disfruté tanto las acciones que tomaba con cada una de sus víctimas, y no me confundan por favor no soy una feminista o alguien que odia a los hombres porque no soy así, simplemente en un movimiento determinado fui como ese personaje y ella vengó a todas las que hemos pasado por momentos parecidos. La película es tan divertida y estresante que no paras de sufrir y reír, también los diálogos son tan genuinos que permite sentirlo como algo natural, por eso de las más de cien nominaciones a premios que tiene esta película sin exagerar, lo puedes verificar, Hermosa Venganza como se titula en español o Promising Young Woman en su título original, fue ganadora del premio Oscar 2021 como mejor guion original. Mirar esta película fue una montaña rusa de emociones, sentí ansiedad, angustia, miedo, humor, sorpresa, y venganza ja, ja, ja. Nada de lo que vi me lo esperaba y se siente muy gratificante cuando una película te sorprende, ya que si eres cinéfilo por lo general ya nada te sorprende, porque descubres los giros de la trama. Esta es una de las pocas películas que atrevería a repetir en compañía de alguien que no la haya visto, solo para ver la reacción de esa persona. Siento que la dirección logró establecer una armonía en la historia, dejando satisfechas ambas partes de los géneros femeninos y masculinos, nadie logró ganar, a mi parecer. Watching this film was a rollercoaster of emotions. I felt anxiety, anguish, fear, humour, surprise and revenge, ha ha ha. Nothing I saw was what I expected, and it feels very rewarding when a film surprises you, because if you're a film buff, nothing usually surprises you anymore, as you discover the plot twists. This is one of the few films I would dare to watch again with someone who hasn't seen it, just to see that person's reaction.
