I came across this series because I wanted to see what actress Maite Perroni, the former RBD actress, was doing, and especially what she had done with actor Alejandro Speitzer, who is supposedly very well-regarded and Mexico's new promise to the world. I thought it was a novela since Maite has made several, but it's classified as a "Series" and is a Netflix production, so I was even more interested and intrigued to see what it was about. The plot follows the marriage of attorney and law professor Alma Solares (Maite Perroni) and renowned judge Leonardo Solares (Jorge Poza), who have a teenage daughter, Zoe. I don't really watch thriller/crime series or movies because the ones I've seen (there have been few) don't seem to respect the viewer. Throughout the entire movie or series, they're always dropping clues, false leads, and strange conversations between certain characters, and you spend your time analyzing all those details, only for the culprit to end up being whoever the director/writer wants, who often isn't even a relevant character. In other words, our analysis of everything the director wanted to tell us was a waste of time. But I had already started watching this series and had to finish it, to give a series about finding the culprit of a crime a chance, especially because it was a Latin American production, specifically from Mexico, which has so many artists and productions I admire.
Realmente no consumo series o películas sobre suspenso/crimen porque las que he visto (han sido pocas) no me parece que respeten al espectador. Durante toda la película o toda la serie, siempre nos van dejando pistas, pistas falsas, conversaciones extrañas en algunos personajes, y uno se la pasa analizando todos esos detalles, para que al final el culpable sea simplemente el que le de la gana al Director/Escritor que muchas veces es un personaje que ni siquiera era relevante, o sea que nuestros análisis de todo lo que nos quiso decir el director fue una pérdida de tiempo. Pero ya me había puesto a ver esta serie y tenía que terminarla, para darle una oportunidad a una serie sobre buscar el culpable de un crimen, y sobre todo porque era una producción latinoamericana, específicamente de México que tiene tantos artistas y producciones que admiro.
The DARK DESIRE series is definitely for adults. There's a narrative device: the sex scenes, which were quite explicit, although they were well-produced and looked very well done in that sense. They respected the angles very well, but I was very surprised by how explicit they were, especially because most of them featured actress Maite Perroni, and I didn't know she was around. Personally, I think the number of risqué scenes was excessive. I think we already knew the point, but these scenes kept going. Maybe it was a demand from the production company, Netflix, but I do think there were more than the story itself needed.
La Serie OSCURO DESEO es para adultos, definitivamente. Hay un recurso narrativo que son las escenas de sexo, que fueron bastante explícitas, aunque si tienen mucha producción y se veían muy bien hechas en ese sentido. Respetaron mucho los ángulos, pero me sorprendió mucho lo explícitas de ellas, sobre todo porque la mayoría eran de la actriz Maite Perroni y no sabía que ella andaba por ahí. Personalmente, creo que se abusó de el número de escenas subidas de tono, creo que ya sabíamos el punto, pero estas escenas seguían y seguían, tal vez haya sido una exigencia de la productora Netflix, pero si creo que fueron más de las que necesitaba la historia como tal.

1. Incorporating a crime story alongside a love story. I think they pulled this off well. I really liked how they did it; it didn't feel forced, and the narrative was very interesting. 2. The quality of the entire production. The images were top-notch and accompanied by masterful music. In this sense, the production company's directing influence is evident. 3. The locations: The houses, the exteriors, and the close-up shots were beautiful, full of details, and felt very personal. I mean, the house felt like their home, and the office felt that way too. I say this because there are productions where you can tell those spaces were borrowed or rented, and they don't fit well with the narrative. 4. Although this first season had 18 episodes, which seems long, the episodes were approximately 30-40 minutes long, so they were very watchable.

Creo que esto lo lograron bien, me gustó mucho cómo lo hicieron, no se sintió forzado, la narrativa estaba bien interesante. 2- La calidad de toda la producción, las imágenes fueron de mucha calidad y acompañadas por música de forma magistral, en este sentido se nota la mano de la productora dentro de la dirección. 3- Las locaciones: Las casas, los exteriores, las escenas cerradas, fueron hermosas, llenas de detalles y se sintieron muy personales, es decir que la casa si se sintió como si era su casa, el despacho se sintió así también. Lo digo porque hay producciones donde se nota que esos espacios fueron prestado o alquilados y no acompañan bien a la narrativa. 4- Aunque esta Primera Temporada tuvo 18 capítulos, lo cual pareciera ser larga, los capítulos eran de aproximadamente 30 - 40 minutos, así que fueron muy fáciles de ver.

1- Como dije creo que exageraron con la cantidad de escenas subidas de tono, pero igual estuvieron muy bien hechas. 2- La falta de desarrollo de los personajes. Desde el capítulo uno cuando Alma sospecha que su esposo le es infiel, y ella le es infiel, eso pasó muy rápido. La motivación de Alma para iniciar su aventura amorosa nunca se justifica del todo, y su personaje parece ser arrastrado por la trama en lugar de tomar decisiones creíbles.
I was very excited to see a Mexican production in the Netflix catalog, with that production quality, but it's not my niche, I didn't like it for me, in fact I'm not motivated to watch the 2nd Season that came out in 2022, but I recognize that many people who like soap operas may like it and can climb a little higher.
Me emocionó mucho ver una producción mexicana en el catálogo de Netflix, con esa calidad de producción, pero no es mi nicho, no me gustó para mí, de hecho no estoy motivada a ver la 2da Temporada que salió el 2022, pero reconozco que le puede gustar a muchas personas que les gustan las novelas y pueden escalar un poco más.
