What Is GHAWG?
GHAWG is short for "God's Hog: A Watchful Guardian." This fictional story tells how David Guardia, a courier and business owner from Bayonne, New Jersey, US moved into the next phase of his life after spending the final ten years of his ailing father's life helping him.

"SOMEONE handed me that envelope," I insisted as I stood up. I should've been shocked by his statement; I wasn't. I just wanted to complete my delivery, which technically I hadn't. Mongols surrounded me, Rhonda, and the crew.
🏍️ It's not often that David Guardia had a delivery rejected when he was a courier for pay, so this was a strange experience for him. Then again, his live since leaving Bayonne, New Jersey, US for STURGIS has been a strange experience.

"It's not my concern what history you & Manny Rey had," I said unfazed by knowledge I was feet away from an admitted killer. "My mission's to get you to take delivery of this envelope," I said. "Do what you want after that."
🏍️ There have been movies featuring people hired by people of "questionable" character to perform their job. Usually the clients are on the wrong side of polite society. David Guardia had been used in this way here, only his Client is as above-board as it can get.

"Just for wasting my time," began Harry, "I'm going to waste yours." He motioned Mongols nearest to me to beat me into the ground. While I landed my punches, I was taken down. "I had a good run. The rest in in Your Hands, Lord."
🏍️ In many video games, the hero has to go through several levels of minions and protection before reaching the Big Boss. David Guardia had reached Boss Level, and he was met by fierce resistance. Facing death, he was resigned to die fighting. The Lord had other ideas.

As I was getting beaten all over, I felt heat hotter than that from the explosion which sent me into a coma. Before I knew it, Mongols stopped beating me. From the ground I looked around. Then I walked to Harry to face him.
🏍️ Deus ex machina takes over, in the form of The Lord giving David Guardia a momentary use of extreme responses by his body. If people can acquire momentary superhuman strength to lift tons of debris off a person in danger-- and these have been documented throughout history-- why can't something similar happen with body heat?

Harry could feel the heat still radiating
from me. He also saw that I wasn't going
anywhere.
"The sooner you take delivery of the
letter," I said, "the sooner I can
leave you alone."
"Oh really?" he asked,
looking like a meme.

There was a loud noise; all I felt was a buzzing near me, which ended when I shooed away whatever buzzed near me. Everyone else looked shocked, but I didn't know why. Rhonda pointed to my feet, where I saw a 0.44 caliber bullet.
🏍️ Poor Man's Bullet Time. David Guardia was experiencing time differently from everyone else. In this case, he didn't see the bullet about to hit him, but he sensed it soon enough to swat it away as if it was an annoying house fly. Neo (Keanu Reeves) he is not.

Harry couldn't believe what was happening; I didn't blame him. I should have been dead, yet I stood with the Magnum .44 bullet in my hand and my body just cooling down. I put the bullet in my pocket and handed Harry the letter.
🏍️ David Guardia is shrugging off this particular "delivery" as if it was just one of the many he had done over the years. For him, the bullet he had swatted to the ground was just a souvenir. For everyone else present, that bullet was a symbol of a miracle.

Story Arc So Far
Harry Hoqualogue is one tough customer. He didn't want to take delivery of the message David Guardia carried with him all the way from Ohio. Harry was annoyed by this interruption of his enjoyment at STURGIS, so he visited all manner of violence upon David. He even had one of his guys shoot David with a Smith & Wesson 0.44 Magnum gun (the kind Clint Eastwood as "Dirty Harry" Callahan is known for using). When he saw David not only survive this attempted shooting but act as if nothing happened, he gave up and reluctantly took delivery of the message from Manny Rey.
