My ideal weekend is without a shadow of a doubt to spend it entirely at the beach in the summer ; the sun symbol of joy and vitality, the waves on your feet with that soothing sound of theirs, the soft sand on which to sleep better than on top of the mattress at home...come on who doesn't like that? you also feel good in the cool escaping from the sultry heat of the city
First the due chores like planting of course the umbrella, because being in the sun at noon is pure madness unless you want to burn yourself, put on sunscreen that better avoid sunburns...once finished the ideal is to take a good book and read there lying down relaxing. Here the last few years I've been reading a lot at the beach, especially mysteries and thrillers (like Angela Marsons), because there I can carve out time for myself isolated from the rest of the world; it's true that in July and August you're literally surrounded by people everywhere, but in reading I can isolate myself and not hear the buzz, music and hubbub, just the occasional sound of the waves...and I go on reading for hours! At home it is impossible either because “wait I have to do the laundry,” “you have to start cooking,” “wait they wrote me on whatsapp”...there at the sea there is none of that to distract.
Then at lunchtime pull out a nice bologna sandwich, no wasting time cooking, lighting fires and dying of heat, a sandwich and go!
When you are in the mood for a nice refreshing swim, you go there and place yourself in the water...the tide being very low here you can literally lie down and stay there with your arms behind your head and your eyes closed, the sea level is very low as are the waves on the shore...it allows for another nice relaxation.
Last but not least, on such a weekend you can't miss the beautiful girls in bikinis to look at, come on we are human and the flesh is weak.... “damn pervert!” you may be thinking, well I don't care.
