[ESP/ENGL] Cinco sabios refranes venezolanos (Número 60)

ESPAÑOL

1) “A otro perro con ese hueso.”

Este refrán es muy ocurrente, jajajaja, y básicamente se usa cuando se quiere decir que no se caerá en una trampa, en un engaño, que esa mentira que nos están diciendo, no la creemos.

2) “Árbol alto, fruta segura.”

Cuando un árbol frutal es muy alto, por ejemplo, un enorme árbol de mango, las frutas que están hacia arriba, hacia su copa, no podrán ser derribadas ni con piedras, ni con palos, están allí, seguras, resguardadas por la altura del árbol. Usar este refrán indica que cuando una persona tiene altura moral y ética, sus obras y sus acciones, no podrán ser desprestigiadas o dañadas por la envidia y calumnias de malas personas.

3) “Aguanta piojo, que la noche es larga.”

Este refrán es para indicar paciencia, en el sentido que tarde o temprano se tendrá la revancha o la oportunidad de desquitarnos del mal que nos han hecho. La venganza es un plato que se sirve frío, así dice otro refrán similar.

4) “Amagar no es pegar.”

Un amago es un intento de golpe, pero no es el golpe en sí mismo. Por eso es que cuando se usa este refrán, se refiere a aquellas personas que amenazan, y a la final, no hacen nada. Por eso es que perro que ladra no muerde (así dice otro refrán, jajajaja), y sí hay que temer a quien está calladito.

5) “Agua que no has de beber, déjala correr.”

Este refrán es súper sabio, pues a veces cuando intentamos hacer algo, ya sea mantener una relación, estar en un trabajo, en un proyecto, hacer algo específico, tener un hijo, etc., y constantemente se fracasa en eso, es mejor olvidarlo y seguir adelante. No sabemos de qué nos está librando Dios con esa protección vestida de fracaso.

1) “To another dog with that bone."

This saying is very witty, hahahaha, and basically it is used when you want to say that you will not fall into a trap, a hoax, that we do not believe that lie that they are telling us.

2) “Tall tree, sure fruit.”

When a fruit tree is very tall, for example, a huge mango tree, the fruits that are facing up, towards its crown, cannot be knocked down with stones or sticks, they are there, safe, protected by the height of the tree. Using this saying indicates that when a person has moral and ethical height, his works and actions cannot be discredited or damaged by the envy and slander of bad people.

3) “Hold on louse, the night is long.

This saying is to indicate patience, in the sense that sooner or later we will have revenge or the opportunity to get even for the wrong that has been done to us. Revenge is a dish that is served cold, so goes another similar saying.

4) “Feinting is not hitting."

A feint is an attempted coup, but it is not the coup itself. That is why when this saying is used, it refers to those people who threaten, and in the end, do nothing. That is why a dog that barks does not bite (so goes another saying, hahahaha), and yes, you have to fear those who are quiet.

5) “Water that you don't have to drink, let it run."

This saying is super wise, because sometimes when we try to do something, be it maintaining a relationship, being in a job, in a project, doing something specific, having a child, etc., and constantly failing at it, it is better to forget it and move on. We do not know what God is freeing us from with that protection dressed as failure.
