- We all agree that walking in the mountains, breathing fresh air, enjoying unique views, sunrises, and sunsets feels different when you are in nature, when you encounter animals, but the most beautiful thing you can experience is crossing a border from one country to another and seeing that nothing has changed, everything remains the same. Then it crosses your mind how humans are so different from one another, but when you observe, we all share the same spaces, and there is no doubt about that. I had that feeling when I walked from Portugal to Spain. And today I will show you what my experience was like on this therapeutic walk.

- Todos estamos de acuerdo que caminar en las montañas, respirar aire fresco, disfrutar de unas vistas únicas, amaneceres y atardeceres se sienten diferente cuando estás en la naturaleza, cuando te encuentras animales, pero lo más hermoso que puedes experimentar es atravesar una división de un país al otro y observar que nada cambio, todo sigue igual. Entonces pasa por tu cabeza como los humanos, somos tan diferentes uno al otro, pero cuando observas todos compartimos los mismos espacios y de eso no hay duda. Esa sensación la tuve cuando caminé de Portugal a España. Y el día de hoy te mostraré cómo fue mi experiencia en esta caminata de terapia.
- My family and I stayed in a village called Sezelhe for vacation, which is very close to Spain, just a 2-3 hour walk across a mountain. It wasn't easy because we were at an altitude where the cold and wind didn't help much, but nevertheless, with a lot of encouragement and strength, I followed my route with the help of GPS until I reached the border between the two countries.

- Mi familia y yo nos quedamos en un pueblo llamado Sezelhe para vacaciones y que muy cerca España, incluso a 2-3 h caminando atravesando una montaña, no fue nada fácil porque estábamos a una altura que el frío y el viento no ayudaban mucho, pero, sin embargo, con muchos ánimos y fuerzas seguí mi ruta con ayuda del GPS hasta llegar a la frontera a la línea de separación entre ambos países.
- I encountered several surprises, such as views and sunrises that make you think you're in a Hollywood movie, but it wasn't like that; it was just a simple morning in the mountains of Portugal and Spain. But the biggest surprise of all was a group of wild horses that were in the area, grazing. From a safe distance, I managed to photograph them several times, but I never got too close because there was no one leading the group, not even a dog, so I decided they were wild and didn't want to be attacked by them. As we know, if animals feel threatened, they will undoubtedly attack.

- Encontrándome varias sorpresas como unas vistas y amaneceres que te hacen pensar que estás en una película de Hollywood, pero no era así, era una simple mañana en las montañas de Portugal y España. Pero la mayor sorpresa de todo fue un grupo de caballos salvajes, que estaban por la zona, comiendo, con una distancia prudente logre fotografiarlos varias veces, pero nunca me acerque mucho porque no había nadie dirigiendo el grupo o incluso un perro, por lo que determine que eran salvajes y no quería ser atacada por ellos, como sabemos los animales si se sienten en peligro sin duda atacarán.

Apart from the group of horses that were watching me the whole time on the mountain, I noticed that the landscapes between the two countries didn't change. I don't know, but when my mind thought I would arrive in Spain, something was going to change, like on that line that divides both countries, I was going to see different plants and even animals. But the forest in both countries is the same, which makes sense because they are mountains with the same ecosystem. Even though my imagination ran wild, I managed to understand why Portugal and Spain have shared so much throughout history, despite Spain's many attempts to invade the territory. Today, they are border brothers who visit each other on vacation and share the same fauna and forest: the Iberian lynx, the Iberian wolf, and the harrier. This hike took place in summer, but I still had to be well protected from the strong winds and cold I felt in the mountains. Even when I was climbing the mountain, my ears popped due to the pressure of the altitude. We can even see that in the mountains opposite there are certain lagoons that were created due to the level of snow that can be found in the area in winter. So if you want to hike this mountain, for safety reasons it has to be in summer or spring.

Aparte del grupo de caballos que estaban supervisándome todo el tiempo en la montaña, logre notar que los paisajes entre ambos países no cambiaban, no sé, pero mi mente cuando pensó que llegaría a España algo iba a cambiar, como en esa línea que divide ambos países, iba a observar plantas diferentes incluso animales. Pero la floresta de ambos países es la misma lo cual tiene sentido porque son montañas con el mismo ecosistema, a pesar de que mi cabeza tenía mucha imaginación, logre comprender por qué Portugal y España a lo largo de la historia compartieron mucho a pesar de que muchas veces España intento invadir el territorio 😅. Al día de hoy son hermanos de fronteras que en las vacaciones nos visitamos el uno al otro y compartimos la misma fauna y floresta: el lince ibérico, el lobo ibérico, el aguilucho. Esta caminata fue realizada en verano y, sin embargo, tuve que ir bien protegida por los fuertes vientos y frío que sentía en la montaña. Incluso cuando estuve subiendo la montaña, mis oídos se taparon debido a la presión de la altura. Incluso podemos detectar que en las montañas de enfrente hay ciertas lagunas que fueron creadas debido al nivel de nieve que puede haber en la zona en invierno. Así que si deseas caminar en esta montaña, por seguridad tiene que ser en verano o primavera.
