Marvellous day on our bikes

@kam5iz · 2023-09-01 20:11 · hive-177745

kam5iz just finished a 35.38km ride, that lasted for 526 minutes. This ride helped kam5iz burn 1351.7 calories.

When we realized there's been no point in waiting weeks for the weather to cool down, we frantically left the house on our bicycles some days ago. Of course we had plans and routes to go, took and packed some minimal gear, water and nutrition. The plan was to ride towards the south, parallel to the Babolrood river among the higher villages and finally the Lafur forest road and reach a cooler area for lunch.

Northern slopes of Savadkooh As you can see in the Google Earth image (Yellow line, right to left) and the elevation diagram below it (left to right) , at first we pedalled 1.5 km uphill behind the house as a short cut to descend on the other side towards the more southern villages located next to the paddy fields.

Descending from Chehreh village The temperature was about 32 Celsius and the humidity was relatively high, and we had missed the coolness of the early morning, but our speed cooled us down on the first descent of the route. (Chehreh village)

In the meantime, we used the selfie as a mirror. And here I was noticing how much the recent hot weeks had aged me! ..staying at home mostly sitstill with the aircon and away from fresh air... if you know what I mean ..😂

Kardegarkola

Here along the road that passed by the rice fields, in the ninth kilometer, we reached the village of Kardegarkola. This secluded village was formed by the Tirkan river and here we bought some cold water and drinks from the first open shop on the road, which fortunately was almost by the river.

Tirkan river - Kardegarkola

Although the river was almost dry, the air around was still several degrees cooler than a few meters away.

This is the same river where we were under its beautiful waterfall 10 kilometers deeper above, three months ago when we thought this summer we would visit each waterfall in the area at least once a week to cool ourselves off, but the heat was so intense that we did not dare to leave the house even by car. And we have definitely missed the pleasure of being with many beauties... IMG_20230820_124154.jpg For example, these Four O'Clocks that grew by the bridge and are not interested in opening up at the moment. (12:45)

Tirkan river - Kardegarkola

Tirkan is one of the main branches of Babolrood river, one of the important rivers of Mazandaran province and finally joins the Caspian Sea through the coastal city of Babolsar. But today we are pedaling in the opposite direction and from here (red arrow below) after another 1.5 km we will reach Lafur forest road.

Kardegarkola - Northern Savadkooh - Tirkan river joins Babolrood

I bought an energy drink just incase and got ready to continue pedaling up toward Lafur. @sabajfa was very determined..

In the thirst and desire for more doses of dopamine

Lafur, by the way, was the name of a beautiful region, including old and ancient villages, which were located deep in the embrace of the heights of Northern Savadkooh, right at the junction of three first branches of Babolrood, But all were submerged by the Alborz Dam along with the ancient sites and the history many years ago. That's why the younger generations know Lafur as a lake. Well, this is whole another story..

When we reached the Lafur road, we pedaled uphill continuously for 6 kilometers with the motivation of eating fish and rice. But when we arrived, they had run out of rice and only had kebabs.

IMG_20230820_143334.jpg There is no honor in eating meat and we rarely do, but this time it really tasted good. with sumac, lemon, vegetables and yogurt on the side. We ate everything so wildly that we left no room for an after-lunch refreshing coffee. We were looking for a place to reach the river bank so that we could have a short chill. but when we sat on the bikes, we got refreshed very fast. The weather had become cooler and the downhill nature of the return route strengthened our desire to continue riding.

Rolling the wheels on the road and gaining more speed was very enjoyable, although the tourists returning from the lake had crowded the road and we had to be cautious.

But what is annoying is the littering of some of them in the nature. Of course I'm not gonna show the picture here.. Sad not for the nature, which will figure it out itself, and not for the landscape..

FJIMG_20230820_162007.jpg

They drive hundreds of kilometers to get here but it seems that they haven't become awake and conscious yet don't like this place enough. They live inside their cities and it's like if they consider here outside and throw their garbage ... What a joy it is that we live outside .. I was thinking

FJIMG_20230820_162019.jpg

Maybe what they see here is not real to them. Just like a cinema, littering while watching and then leaving the place.😅
... Then I remembered the joyfulness is a matter of deep breath, here, outside

IMG_20230820_152358.jpg A little after, we reached Terez Forest Park, which is located in the downhill distance between the road and the river. We entered the park with the goal of reaching the cold water and splashing it on our faces.

IMG_20230820_152722.jpg

But the distance to the river was more than what it seemed on the map, and the lower we went, the denser the forest and the more humid and tiring the air. At the end, it was reaching a steep slope and a 50-meter height difference! Well.. @Sabajfa preferred to play tree climbing for better stretching.

IMG_20230820_153610.jpg

We would definitely like to go down and reach the riverside, but when we bring the tent, coffee and Milo with us. Because daylight is not as durable as our energy.

FJIMG_20230820_162546.jpg

After a short rest and energy drink, we set off on the road, washing our heads and faces with a bottle full of water left by the tourists.

We were enjoying the downhill ride, Miles in perfect weather of those beautiful moments...

FJIMG_20230820_175453.jpg

... While chasing Saba was not easy when she kept pedaling to get more speed.

FJIMG_20230820_181119.jpg

I was thinking that being with nature and pulsating with it will make even the heat and cold be pleasant for us. It's like empowering from becoming one ...

FJIMG_20230820_181127.jpg

... then Suddenly, a pleasant rain started !

FJIMG_20230820_184640.jpg

Everyone was happy. Plants, bikes and even kitty cactus on Saba's T-shirt

FJIMG_20230820_190007.jpg

Look at those! IMG_20230820_172720.jpg

See how well they are too what do you call these beauties in your area? Cause there are almost all around our marvelous planet. "Beauty of the night"? "Four o'clock"? ... We call them "Stern King's tulip" لاله عباسی Infact they are "Marvels of Peru".

IMG_20230820_172735.jpg

And Saba became a dot again

FJIMG_20230820_190817.jpg

Me overtook on the uphill part

IMG_20230820_180920.jpg

When sitting on the saddle's becoming impossible
