Greetings to everyone in the Daily Blog community. Today I'm joining you here to share with you what my weekend was like. After days of work, it's always a good time to take time for myself and my family, so after attending to the dentist's office, I like to take a break from it and do something different. My partner and I aren't big on "partying," or, to put it another way, we don't really seek out nightlife in the city, but just this past weekend we learned there would be a gathering of several musicians who would be playing rock music in the well-known Plaza del Hierro in Puerto Ordaz. So, since it's a genre we like, we took the opportunity to go there.
Saludos a todos en la comunidad de Daily Blog. El día de hoy me uno por aquí para compartir con ustedes lo que fue mi fin de semana. Luego de días de trabajo, siempre es apropiado poder hacerse de tiempo para uno y para la familia, así que luego de atender el consultorio odontológico, me gusta descansar un poco de ello e ir a por algo diferente. Mi pareja y yo no somos muy "fiesteros" o por darle un nombre, no somos de buscar acción nocturna por la ciudad, pero justo este fin de semana pasado supimos que habría un encuentro de varios músicos que se dedicarían a tocar música rock en la conocida Plaza del Hierro de Puerto Ordaz. Así que, dado que es un género que nos gusta, aprovechamos la oportunidad para acercamos a ello.
The event was scheduled to start around 5 p.m., and we had arrived early so he could take some photos around the city, so we took the opportunity to grab a pizza before heading to the concert. We went to the best pizza place in Puerto Ordaz, called "Pizzas House." The truth is, they're very good because the dough is semi-thick, soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. They add plenty of toppings (they're not lacking anything), and the seasoning is perfect (lots of tomato, cheese, and seasoning flavor). They also have a reputation for making not only the best pizzas but also the largest, with a special pizza measuring about 80 cm, or almost a meter (no kidding). Since there were two of us, it was impossible to eat something like that, so we went for the regular pizza, which is a medium-sized pizza. The next one for two and you're satisfied.
El evento comenzaría a eso de las 5 de la tarde y nosotros habíamos llegado temprano para que él tomara algunas fotografías por al ciudad, así que tomamos el momento para ir a por una pizza antes de ir al concierto. Fuimos al mejor lugar de pizzas de Puerto Ordaz, la cual se llama "Pizzas House". La verdad son muy buenas porque la masa es semi gruesa, suave por dentro y crujiente por fuera, le añaden bastantes ingredientes (no le niegan nada) y la sazón es la ideal (mucho sabor a tomate, queso y condimentos). Además aquí tienen la reputación de hacer no solo las mejores pizzas sino las más grandes, siendo que hay una especial que debe medir unos 80 cm o casi un metro (sin mentiras alguna). Cómo éramos dos, era imposible comerse algo como eso, así que nos fuimos por la regular que es una mediana: siguiente para dos y quedas a gusto.
After eating, we went to see how things were going at the event. Truthfully, we managed to stay for a while, but we had already arrived a bit late and didn't get to hear the entire musical repertoire. The good thing is that many musicians joined together to be part of this event and raise awareness of a genre rarely seen in Ciudad Guayana. Furthermore, there was no shortage of laughter and joy, as both the musicians and the spectators were excited to witness something like this. It's a shame that there isn't as much of a movement for this genre in Puerto Ordaz, given that many of us would like to see more of it. It was a unique, enjoyable, and happy weekend. Luego de comer, nos fuimos a ver cómo iba todo por allá en el evento. La verdad, logramos estar más o menos un tiempo pero ya habíamos llegado algo tarde y no alcanzamos a escuchar todo el repertorio musical. Lo bueno, es que muchos músicos se unieron para hacer parte de este evento y dar visibilidad hacia un género que pocas veces se ve presente en Ciudad Guayana. Además, las risas y alegrías no faltaron pues tanto los músicos como los espectadores se encontraban emocionados de poder presenciar algo así. Es una lastima que en Puerto Ordaz no exista una movida tan grande sobre este género siendo que muchos de nosostros desearíamos ver más de esto. Fue un fin de semana peculiar, agradable y feliz.
