Today was a meaningful and refreshing day for us teachers as we gathered for our annual physical examination, an essential yet often overlooked part of taking care of ourselves amidst the demands of our profession. What made this day even more special was that it was completely free of charge, thanks to the unwavering support and generous initiative of Congressman Jay Khonghun and Vice Governor Jaq F. Khonghun.

As teachers, we dedicate most of our time and energy to nurturing young minds, managing classrooms, preparing lessons, and often sacrificing our own needs for the sake of our students. Having a day like this, where our health and well-being are prioritized and supported by our local leaders, means more than words can fully express.

We began the day early, gathering at the designated health facility. Warm smiles and a welcoming atmosphere greeted us. The process was organized and smooth, from blood pressure checks and blood tests to height and weight measurements, as well as eye exams and consultations with medical professionals. It felt good to know that someone was looking out for our health, recognising the importance of ensuring that educators are strong and healthy so that they can give their best to their students.

To further enhance our appreciation, a complimentary breakfast was also provided for all participants. It was a thoughtful gesture that made us feel even more valued. After the medical procedures, we shared a hearty and nutritious breakfast with fellow teachers, chatting and catching up with each other, sharing stories, laughter, and even reflections about our health and careers.

It felt more like a small community gathering than a medical appointment—a rare and beautiful break from our usual busy routines.

We are deeply grateful to Congressman Jay Khonghun and Vice Governor Jaq F. Khonghun for spearheading this initiative. Their commitment to the welfare of educators does not go unnoticed. Providing free annual physical examinations is not just a financial relief for many of us, but it also sends a clear message that our health matters—that we are valued and matter.

Today reminded us that while teaching is a noble job, it is just as noble to take care of those who teach. With this kind of support from our leaders, we feel more inspired to continue our service, knowing that we are not forgotten or left behind. Their kindness and genuine concern are things we will carry in our hearts as we go back to our classrooms.

As we return to our duties tomorrow, we carry with us not only the results of our medical check-ups but also a renewed sense of gratitude and motivation. We hope that this initiative continues in the years to come, not only for our health but also to strengthen the bond between public servants and the educators who help shape the next generation.

Thank you again to our honourable Congressman Jay Khonghun and Vice Governor Jaq F. Khonghun. Your support truly makes a difference.

Additionally, I’m especially grateful for the company of my amazing colleagues. All the waiting time became fun and bearable with their presence, laughter, and stories. Truly, it’s always better when good people surround you.
