JAKARTA ARCHITECTURE FESTIVAL 2024

A Mini Tour of Jakarta ✨

-----

Hello Hive Friends! Gosh, it's been two weeks since I last wrote... I've been pretty busy with work, hehe. This time ... I want to share my experience from last year when my sister, Keysha, and I went to the Jakarta Architecture Festival 2024, yuhuuuu ..

Ehmm .. At first time, we just planned to take a leisurely stroll around the mall, but it turned out that this festival was happening at the same time. Since it was free, we decided to go right in. Hahaha, you can't turn down good fortune, right?

As soon as we entered, we were greeted by a sign that read Jakarta Architecture Festival 2024 in really cool font. From there, we walked through a hallway and came across an installation of plants and miniature trees that were really cute. Of course, we immediately stopped to take pictures in front of the mirror. We struck cute poses to make our Instagram feeds even cooler 😆.

After that, we found an exhibition area filled with historical artifacts. And ... I was amazed to see so many items that were once used for architectural projects in Indonesia, wahhh ... It felt like a trip down memory lane, really!

Then, there was a wall covered in aesthetic graffiti. Plus, there were uniquely shaped chairs. Spontaneously, Keysha and I immediately said, “Hey, let's take a picture here!” 🤭. I quickly turned on my camera, ready to capture the moment, hahha.

In another area, there was a hallway with fabrics hanging, containing information about miniature buildings in Jakarta. It was cute, like touring a mini version of Jakarta. The miniatures are very detailed, so if you come to Jakarta later, you will find the real buildings.

What excited me the most was the miniature of an aesthetic bridge that is currently popular among young people. Many photographers and videographers like to hunt for photos there. No wonder, because it's really beautiful.

Then we found a room filled with old items. There were tube TVs, old radios, and accessories that are rarely seen nowadays. Duuhh .. I immediately felt nostalgic, like I was back in my childhood, hihii

Another interesting thing was Eco Touch—a kind of eco-friendly installation made from recycled materials. For example, the walls were made from used materials, but the result was still cool and usable. It was very interesting and made me realize that trash can actually be turned into something useful, amazing ...

In another section, there was an exhibition about rice. It was displayed in a glass aquarium, complete with explanations. Next to it, there were postcards with cute and unique pictures, making me want to collect them all.

And finally, we came across a series of iconic paintings and posters about Jakarta. The pictures were so beautiful, seriously... I was at a loss for words other than “WOW.” It felt like every corner had its own story.

Yeayyy finally ... After we were satisfied with our tour (and tired too, haha), we decided to go home because it was already afternoon. But really, this experience made me feel like I was touring a mini version of Jakarta. The difference is that here, you don't have to deal with the heat or rain. You can see every detail of the buildings from top to bottom.

Overall, it was absolutely satisfying! If this festival happens again, Keysha and I will definitely come back. It’s so much fun, for real! ✨
