SUGARBELL PRIOK A Two-Storey Hidden Gem That's Instagrammable & Cozy!
-----
Hello everyone, let me introduce myself, my name is Tina. This is really my first time writing in this community, I hope this will be a good start for me in the future. Because honestly I don't really understand architecture, but I like beautiful and unique things in every building, whether it amazes me or even surprises me.
This time I want to start a review of a cafe in the city of Jakarta, precisely in the Tanjung Priok area of North Jakarta. This location is not that far from my house, so I don't mind going back and forth every day, haha. Oh yeah, here, besides the unique building, the food is also delicious. For me, this is a place worth visiting anytime.
The first time I came, I was confused about where it was. Until finally I entered the parking area and it turned out that the cafe was just a shophouse. It looks small from the outside, but when I entered it turned out to be quite spacious. On the first floor, it is filled with display cases to show the types of cakes and food available, there is a cashier's desk and also some snacks. As soon as you enter the hallway, there are tables and chairs for customers, toilets and also a kitchen that provides drinks and ready-to-eat food.
After that, I went to the second floor, by climbing the stairs while passing the kitchen on the right. On the second floor, there are many ornaments that focus on customer comfort, chairs with various types, tables and also decorations that are pleasing to the eye. The pastel pink color makes the atmosphere warm and shady, and the green color makes it look expensive and elegant.
The color palette here is really a highlight. It's crazy, imagine the combination of milky white, turquoise blue, dusty pink, and gold accents in several places - it looks very feminine, soft, but not tacky. And this is not only for aesthetics, but also creates a calm and comfortable mood. Very suitable for relaxing coffee, doing assignments, or just taking beautiful photos.
The layout is divided into two floors.
- Ground floor: more crowded, suitable for those who come in a group. There are booths, shabby chic wooden chairs, and even soft benches for those who want to relax more.
- Upper floor: quieter and more private. Suitable for serious chats or working with a laptop.
- Terrace: For those who smoke, the terrace can be a solution plus a swing that makes it even more comfortable.
The furniture is a mix of vintage European vibes and the comfort of grandma's house (in a cool way, not old-fashioned). Lots of floral motifs, rattan, and soft cushions that make you want to sit for a long time.
The windows are really big plus the ceiling is also high, allowing natural light to enter beautifully during the day. This makes the room feel spacious and not stuffy. But yeah... sometimes it gets a bit stuffy if the AC isn't working optimally, especially when the cafe is full. Some visitors also commented on the room not being cool enough, especially on the upper floor.
Because the interior has many hard elements (ceramic floors, panel walls), sound tends to bounce and sometimes gets a bit noisy when the cafe is crowded, especially if there are children. The second floor can be a solution if you need a quieter atmosphere. On the other side of the second floor, there is also live music, only this applies on weekends.
Every corner seems to be intentionally designed to be a photo spot. There are white panel walls like European cafes, dried flower decorations, aesthetic neon signs, and mini crystal chandeliers. This eclectic style combines classic and contemporary elementsβso it doesn't feel too thematic or over the top. For the terrace, there is also an iron swing that creates a shady atmosphere, don't forget to also make a flower background with a love shape that says Sugarbell also attracts attention, and is suitable as a photo spot with your loved ones.

What Makes Sugarbell Interesting:
- Aesthetics 10/10: Suitable for OOTD, hangouts, even bridal showers.
- Seating options: Whether you're in a group, together, or alone, everyone can be comfortable.
- Homey feel: Even though it's a cafe, it still feels warm and not too formal.
- The second floor is quieter: Heaven for those who need to focus.
Sugarbell is not just an ordinary cafe. This is a place for a little healing while enjoying the beautiful interior aesthetics. Very suitable for those who like a sweet, cozy atmosphere, and full of personal touches. If you like cafes with Korean dessert cafe vibes but still have local character, Sugarbell can be your mainstay. Just a few tweaks to the comfort, and that's will be perfect.π
