They are; parents Christopher and Corrine; Will they be happy; you must find out. Along with them; their children Christopher, Catherine, and the twins Carrie and Cory. A family that at the beginning we see in an apparent harmony, but soon they will be involved in a deep tragedy. Tragedy that leads them to make a decision and the same is based on moving away from home, to go to the house of Corrine's mother, all with a view to finding solutions to his life, but as always, things will not be rosy for Corrine and her children. Una obra que es la primera entrega de una saga de 5 tomos, los cuales fueron escritos por la fabulosa V. C. Andrews. Es válido mencionar; que a raíz del éxito de esta saga, la misma también fue llevada a la gran pantalla. Digo que el tema es un poco controversial; porque la narrativa de la escritora esta basada en mostrar un mundo gótico, oscuro, donde predomina una especie de terror psicológico. En torno a ello; las obras de Andrews le han dado la vuelta al mundo y a pesar de sus años, las mismas aun están presentes en la mirada de los lectores; todo ello debido a sus tramas que mezclan abuso, incesto, abandono y encierro; tal como ocurre en Flores en el Ático, una obra de la cual vamos a disfrutar en todo su esplendor. El libro en cuestión; sencillamente nos presenta una hermosura muy inquietante; es un recorrido que se adentra en la mente humana, donde estaremos inmersos en la vida de una familia que esconde los más oscuros secretos. Y es aquí donde vamos a conocer a la familia Dollanganger; un grupo que a simple vista creemos que no le falta nada y aparentan una felicidad que pudiera ser efímera. Una familia que al inicio la vemos en una aparente armonía, pero que pronto se verán envueltos en una profunda tragedia. Esto; sin duda alguna, nos expondrá un mundo de aislamiento, represión, terror psicológico y por si fuera poco; más allá de un encierro físico, los cuatro hermanos van a sentir un total encarcelamiento emocional. Todo esto lleva a los niños a convivir en conjunto y a cubrir todas sus necesidades; ellos son su único apoyo, hasta el punto en que los hermanos mayores deben convertirse prácticamente en los padres de los menores. El ático se convierte en el mundo reducido de los hermanos y comienzan a funcionar dentro de lo que cabe, como una familia. Entre los hermanos mayores van sucediendo cosas íntimas, lo que significa que el pasado se repite. En consecuencia; al transcurrir de la lectura, vemos a Corrine; una madre llena de confusiones, a veces es amorosa y otras una total desconocida; sencillamente, nos hace pensar que solo genera dolor y abandono. Sin duda alguna; el texto nos invita a reflexionar sobre lo oscuro que puede ser la familia y de lo que las personas, en nombre del amor pueden ser capaces. Todo esto demuestra que las acciones llevadas a cabo por los adultos, pueden tener impacto positivo o negativo en los niños; acciones que dentro del libro son muy evidentes.    El tema central de la obra basado en el encierro de los niños; como dije antes, destruye las emociones positivas y la inocencia de los mismos. Desde mi punto de vista; estas acciones solo funcionan como una forma de ocultar los horrores de la familia, la cual vive bajo una aparente perfección que destruye la voluntad humana. Por otra parte; los temas descritos, evidencian las situaciones traumáticas que ha vivido la familia de generación en generación; los horrores, miedos y abusos son fotocopiados por toda la familia. Situación que se ha repetido con los cuatro niños debido al trauma que ha intentado esconder Corrine; es decir, las heridas de los padres no cicatrizan en sus hijos, situación que conlleva a la destrucción total de la familia. En tal sentido; una familia que debería ser fuente de amor y protección; se convierte en el centro de peligros constantes. En términos generales; este libro nos invita a reflexionar, que no siempre los peligros provienen del entorno; sino, que ya están dentro del hogar. Otro punto que me llamó la atención; fue la narración en primera persona llevada a cabo por Catherine; y particularmente es una inmersión maravillosa, porque nos permite vivir en primera linea todas las atrocidades de las que son víctima los niños. Sin duda alguna; con este hecho, la autora crea esa simpatía con nosotros y nos hace vivir todos los miedos que sufren los cuatro hermanos. En definitiva; este libro es un llamado a la reflexión sobre la familia; porque hasta las personas más poderosas y que piensan tenerlo todo, pueden esconder los secretos más oscuros. Sencillamente; este es un relato de supervivencia inquietante, de desesperación y de ver como la maldad humana se puede disfrazar de amor familiar.
