Hi vegan friends...

Today I want to introduce you to some healthy snacks that we often buy and enjoy every weekend.

Oh, and first of all, how are you today? Are you healthy? I hope you're always healthy and happy.

As usual, every weekend we always make time to go out, whether to play, do our weekly shopping, or just buy food and snacks. Like last night, my husband and I went downtown, where there are lots of people selling food, snacks, and drinks.

Last night I went with my husband and son. Because it was so busy, we couldn't find parking, so we didn't eat in. We just ordered takeout.

Our only choice this time was to buy coffee and snacks that my son requested. Yes, my son asked for putu bambu and putu mayang cakes. He really liked them.

We ended up buying several packs of these snacks. When I asked the seller, he told me they were selling for Rp. 1,000 (USD 0.061) each. I decided to buy two packs for Rp. 15,000 (USD 0.92) each. For these two packs, I spent $1.83.

This cake is an old-school cake that remains very popular today. It's made from roasted rice flour with a little salt and topped with sliced palm sugar. It's then molded using bamboo and steamed until cooked (hence the name "bamboo putu cake").

I'll share a few photos of sellers making orders. This grandfather filled bamboo pieces with rice flour and palm sugar dough and steamed them briefly.

This grandmother, on the other hand, took the cooked kue putu and placed it on a mat that would later become a package. She placed the cooked kue putu, topped with grated coconut and a sprinkling of fine white sugar, and then wrapped it neatly.

Once cooked, the cake is served with grated coconut and white sugar.

Oh yeah, they also sell sweet martabak, but I didn't buy it. Maybe next time I'll buy some and share it with my vegan friends.

After arriving home, I immediately served it on a plate for all of us to eat.

Another time I will share a tutorial on cooking this cake, friends. Wait for my next post.
