Wishing a very good day to all my dear friends.
Cassava is a traditional root crop that has nourished generations with its earthy taste and versatility. Transforming this humble ingredient into a spiced devilled dish gives it a whole new identity – crispy on the outside, soft inside, and bursting with fiery flavors. Devilled cassava is a perfect option for those who love bold, strong, and spicy twists. It serves wonderfully as a snack or as a crowd-pleaser during family gatherings and special occasions. Let’s take a look at how to prepare it step by step.
Materials Used.
Cassava 500g. 2 Tablespoon of coconut oil. A finely chopped carrot. A few finely chopped onion leaves. A little chopped onion. Two finely chopped red chillies. 5 to 6 Kochi chilli pods.
Water 500ml.
1/2 Teaspoon of turmeric powder.
Grated Coconut 50g.
Salt as needed.
1/2 Teaspoon of Mustard Seeds.
The cooking process as follows.
Now let’s get ready to prepare this dish. First, take the cassava, remove the thick outer skin, cut it into small pieces, and wash them thoroughly.
Next, take a pot and add the chopped cassava pieces. Pour in about 500ml of water, add some turmeric powder, and boil until well cooked. Then remove from the stove.
Meanwhile, take a traditional grinding stone (or mortar and pestle) and grind together salt, red chilies, a little turmeric powder, and grated coconut until well combined to make a coconut sambol (pol mallum).
Next, take another pan and add two tablespoons of coconut oil. Place it on the stove and let the oil heat until hot. Then add mustard seeds, chopped garlic, onions, curry leaves, and pieces of green chili. Sauté well until aromatic.
Next, add the chili pieces and a little of the coconut mixture, then add the boiled cassava pieces. Mix everything well together. Cook for about 2–3 minutes and then remove from the stove.
This delicious Cassava Devilled is more than just a recipe – it is a fusion of tradition and creativity, transforming a simple root into an unforgettable dish. The balance of spices and crispy texture makes it truly memorable, while still preserving the natural health benefits of cassava. Serve it warm, enjoy it with friends or family, and let this vibrant dish bring a spark of flavor to your table. That’s all for today – until we meet again with another new recipe. Wishing you all a wonderful day!
