I have made bakwan very often, but to make chive bakwan, this is the first time for me, especially in this recipe I only use oatmeal as a substitute for flour and don't use flour at all. Apart from that, usually when I make Bakwan, it has become a tradition, so using large amounts of cooking oil is something that is absolutely justified here. However, as time goes by, I am very aware that anything fried, especially flour, at my age is the wrong step, so currently my wife and I are minimizing the use of cooking oil and flour in home-made snacks for our daily consumption.
Currently I want to make a snack but I have a lot of limited ingredients so I racked my brain to make my afternoon snack and finally I found something that can be processed, namely chives which are similar to spring onions. This plant can be made into vegetables and snacks, it is very tasty and management is also quite easy. I will show you all how to make it.
The ingredients I need to make this Oatmel Bakwan are quite simple, namely:
1. 300 grams of oatmeal
2. 100 grams of chives (this chive can be replaced with other vegetables such as bean sprouts, cabbage, carrots or other types of vegetables.)
3. ¼ tablespoon salt 4. ½ tablespoon coriander powder
5. 1 chili 6. 3 cloves of garlic 7. 3 cloves of shallots
And the way to make Oatmeal Bakwan is:
1. Place the oatmeal in a slightly larger container
2. Then I washed the chives and sliced them thinly and mixed them into the oatmeal container.
3. After that, I blended the shallots, garlic, chilies and I also added the coriander powder and salt.
4. Don't forget, before I blend, I add water then I blend all the ingredients until smooth.
5. After all the ingredients were smooth, I mixed them into the oatmeal and stirred slowly until the oatmeal became solid. In this case, there is no need to add water because the water in the blending process is more than enough to make this oatmeal bakwan.
6. The next step is to take the dough little by little, flatten it, then put it in the airfrayer. But before that I had smeared the airfrayer with olive oil so that the results wouldn't be too dry.
7. After that, I baked it using this airfrayer for 7 minutes so that my oatmeal bakwan doesn't dry out and you can see the results for yourself. My oatmeal bakwan is ready and I managed to make it with just the ingredients I had.
I'm sure you have been like me in making something but had limitations in the main ingredients but you never gave up and in the end you succeeded in making it. One word for success in making food is 'Satisfaction' and that's what I was when I made this recipe. Greetings from me Tomidiwirja, Indonesia
