Flowering of my Trichocereus

I bought this cactus almost 3 years ago under the name Trichocereus orange erlfolo & marchenFee.

And now, finally, I waited for its first flowering. The flower is simply amazing! Almost 18 cm in diameter!!! But, unfortunately, no fragrance. But some Trichocereus have a lily scent, I would really like mine to have that.

Trichocereus is distributed in Bolivia, Ecuador, Chile, Argentina.

At home, Trichocereus rarely blooms. But in Cyprus it blooms without problems. The duration of flowering is only 1-3 days.

Trichocereus is very photophilous. Adult Trichocereus are not afraid of direct sunlight. It also tolerates cold down to -3ºC.

Trichocereus grows best in alkaline soil.
