Broadbeach Waters parkrun, Queensland, Australia.

I really like the Broadwaters parkrun because it is a pretty fast and flat course with no dead turns. There is only the slightest incline on one side of the loop around the park but you can easily make up time on the down hill side. This was our second event here the last time was way back in 2019 the last event before covid shut everything down for months. It was great to be back without the threat of a looming lockdown. Parking is easy at the PCYC carpark but the only public toilet that is open this early is about one kilometre away. We missed there coffee afterwards, last time because of covid, this time because we needed to meet my mum, sister and son for breakfast. I guess that means we will just have to return a third time and hopefully I will be able to run a little faster than the 24:58 I did for there event number 518.

Yuka was celebrating her 100th event, they have a really strong community around this parkrun which almost feels like a running club.

A well set up start line that funnelled everyone onto a narrow path.

They seemed to have turned the Nerang river into many canals which the parkrun course ran along at the start. I bet all these properties are worth a small fortune.

We lost GPS signal going under the Southport Burleigh road.

The course path is pretty narrow but is not too much of a problem with only 120 runners and walkers
