Cheltenham sounds pretty posh and the Neptune fountain made it look like it was pretty posh too. Maybe posh in an old sort of way, the fountain reminded me of the Trevi fountain in Rome but not as grand or big. I think Cheltenham was famous for a mineral water spring and as a day spa for the rich and famous. Unfortunately there was not time or budget for any pampering today for us, we were just passing through from Bristol to Cheshire and were just looking for some where to get something to eat and have a bit of a walk around.

We parked the hire car near Montpellier Gardens which was nothing really special but a bit of a walk in a green space sure beats driving for hours on the motor ways.

A 1,500 pound grant help build the Italian Gardens back in 1920 I bet it cost a lot more than just to maintain in now.

I think the pool maintenance person needs to check the pH levels and add a bit of acid this fountain pool was looking a tad green. I am worried my swimming pool will look similar when I get home from this trip.

It was summer when we were there luckily it had stopped raining so there was a nice bit of color in the gardens.

I was just not sure what to make of this Lady Hare and Minotaur sculpture located on the Promenade. So much art just does nothing for me, maybe that is the talking point.
