Town Beach, Port Macquarie, New South Wales, Australia.

So Port Macquarie and Town Beach claim to be the body boarding Capital of Australia. I don't think is any sort of official title but is definitely home to the Port Macquarie Bodyboarding Association, which is one of the longest-running bodyboarding clubs in the world. I have been been to this place three times but have never even swum or even tried to body board but it sure looks good. On my trips I have always been too busy doing other things. It is also home to a big Iron Man event which seems to take over the town once a year. I have done the event twice and will never forget having to try and run four ten kilometres laps through the Town beach car park. It is the place on the iron man run leg where you had to collect wrist bands to prove you did the four laps. There is also a parkrun at Town Beach as well, I did it the day before the full ironman, it was a very busy weekend. No wonder I had no time for body boarding or even a swim but I did do the Iron man swim leg in the hasting river.

I would love to try this coastal walk one day.

At the southern end of the beach is flagstaff Cove and a look out. I checked it out quickly while on an afternoon run but there was not much too see other than the ship wreck plaque.

The Northern end of the beach is a lot more interesting. The break wall protecting the Hastings River and my two favorite painted rocks.
