Buying Local Honey at a Colourful Farm Stand 🐝
I love visiting this farm stand in summer and early autumn every year. This year, I was worried about the dry weather, but the farm stand opened as usual. I usually buy fresh corn here. They sell delicious summer and autumn vegetables until they close before the cold months. They usually sell peach cream and yellow corn. The boxes full of corn look so precious.
Of course, this time I bought some corn. There are high school part-time workers there who I’ve known since they were younger. We met when they were at the elementary school where I was working. Even though they look older now, I still remember their faces with fond memories. Every year, it’s wonderful to see them growing up as high school students.
While I was selecting corn this time, the farm owner arrived with fresh sunflowers on his truck. It was such a beautiful scene.
I was immediately drawn to their decorations. They decorate the farm stand beautifully every year, with a lovely retro style. The mix of autumn and summer colours blended together perfectly at this charming stand.
My eyes were then caught by the local fresh honey, which looked so delicious. I really wanted to try it, and my husband decided to buy it for us.
When we tasted it, the quality of the honey was so delicate that the flavour was fresh, with a fragrance similar to medicinal honey like Manuka. Even our dog tasted it with us. I can’t wait to enjoy it with our daily yogurt, French toast, and more.

🐝 色鮮やかな農場直売所で地元のはちみつを買う
毎年夏と初秋に向けてオープンする野菜の直売所を訪れるのが楽しみです。今年の乾燥した天候が心配でしたが、今年も例年通り、直売所が開催されました。たいてい、ここではとうもろこしを購入します。寒い時期がやってくるまで、おいしい夏野菜と秋野菜が販売されます。毎年ピーチクリームとイエローコーンが売られています。箱いっぱいに詰まったとうもろこしはとても貴重です。
もちろん、今回もとうもろこしを購入しました。働いている高校生のアルバイトの人たちの中には、見覚えのある人たちがいます。小学校で働いていた時にいた生徒さんたちです。学年が上がっても、やっぱり面影があるので、いい思い出が蘇ります。毎年、高校生になった彼らを見ることができるのは素晴らしいことに感じます。
とうもろこしを選んでいると、農家のオーナーがトラックに乗って搭乗しました。荷台にはひまわりが積んでありました。
デコレーションに目が釘付けになります。毎年、おしゃれなレトロスタイルで直売所の飾り付けをしています。秋と夏の色合いがちょうど良く混ざり合って、とてもかわいらしいです。
今回は新鮮なはちみつに惹かれました。とても美味しそうだったので、食べてみたいと思っていたところ、主人がひとつ購入してくれました。
さっそく試食してみると、とてもデリケートな上質のはちみつで、新鮮でマヌカハニーのようなメディスンの香りがしてきました。家の犬も味見をしました。ヨーグルトやフレンチトーストにかけて食べるのが良さそうです。
