What if someone told you there's a free all you can eat ice cream bar for 10 days on your holiday? That's enough to make anyone scream, right? This is the Lick Me Till... Ice Cream bar on my cruise holiday last year.
The ice cream bar was manned by this lovely lady, who's name I forgot. She's from Bali in Indonesia, and I was thinking, would I prefer to be working in Bali (I haven't been before but it heard it's very nice), or on a cruise ship? Anyway, she was here everyday from 8am to 10pm and always had a lovely smile when I came. Apparently, they rotate the roles every three months so she's not always stuck behind the ice cream counter.
I said to myself, I'm going to make the most of this and come by here twice a day to taste every flavour. I never managed that in the end because they feed you so well on the cruise ship that sometimes you just have to say no more food, even to ice cream!! I wish I had a separate stomach for ice cream and desserts.
Anyway, on the first day I started with my favourite chocolate flavour ice cream. It's really quite difficult to go wrong with chocolate ice cream if they're using good quality ingredients and this didn't disappoint.
This is strawberry sorbet, it was very fresh, full of strawberry flavour and creamy, which is a bit surprising because sorbet is normally quite light due to the lack of dairy content.
After the strawberry sorbet , I decided to try the normal strawberry ice and double up on the special of the day espresso chip. Why have one when you can have two scoops, one can never have too much ice cream ☺️. The strawberry ice cream wasn't as flavoursome as the sorbet, but the espresso chip was full of coffee flavour. I'm not a big coffee fan but it didn't feel overpowering at all.
Pistachio is another of my favourite flavour, I had a lot of pistachio ice cream during HiveFest a couple months earlier when I was in Croatia. They were really nice. This one here didn't have very strong flavour and was a bit of disappointment.
This is butter pecan. It's not my normal choice but when you have unlimited access to a free ice cream bar, you want to try everything. It was very nice and smooth.
And there's a whole range of other fancy flavours, including vegan and sugar free. I didn't get round to try them all, wish I had!
Remember I told you earlier on that I had a lot of ice cream in Croatia a couple months before this trip? Apart from the chocolate, I can't remember the other flavours, but who cares when you're stuffing yourself with delicious ice cream in a hot summer day.
Do you enjoy indulging yourself with ice cream in summer and and what's your favourite flavour? Let me know in the comments.
I'm writing this as a Chit Chat Friday series of post with the objective of driving up engagement and communication on Hive. The content will evolve around daily life things making it easy for everyone to take part to engage with one another. Hopefully it will interest you to make genuine engagement instead of two word spams like "Nice photos" "Very beautiful" or calling bots. I will be muting those comments.
