There a couple of simple things you can count on here in the Netherlands. - We have no government and elections are in the making - The balance between wind and rain and your outdoor plans might be a bit challenging and the weather radar seems to be your best friend - For a local beer, home town brewery 'het Veem' never disappoints!
I didn't dare to go for this one, it seemed a bit bold and as a total knock out banger
And as the start of the weekend reached and the workload this time actually made it like we all 'deserved' a beer after everything that had passed during the week. It doesn't even matter that the beers you want to order are all out of stock and you just head over to the good ol' safe ones.
Who cares right? A good beer is a good beer and that means everything else in the world disappears for a bit.
NEIPA
Those New England IPA's are always the smooth ones to take in there. Always when looking at the beer menu (because het Veem has a lot of choice on there) and while deciding on what to go for, an IPA or a NEIPA are always just fine.
Untapped is also enthusiastic enough on this one, and honestly I was looking for Ratebeer for the review on this one, but Ratebeer doesn't exist anymore since the beginning of this year.
Say whut? This is literally the site where it all started on where and how to learn about beer before the whole world was a home brewer. Anyone remember the dude who used to make a daily beer post and also have some bitcoin news in there as well here on Hive? (or well, it's previous form). I loved those posts and there was always some ratebeer inside there as well.
The kettles
It is cool to see that these gigantic kettles are not only the backdrop of the brewery because they look fun, but that they are also being used to actually make beer.
Here this 'Forbidden City' is a quadrupel beer in the making with a 10.5% in there which should be an absolute bombshell I guess.
Or what about this Cuvee strijp beer that doesn't even have a spot as yet on the website. I'm very curious what this will turn into in a couple of days.
That is what I like about these types of breweries. They have their steady inventory which you (almost) always order, but they also have a lot of stuff that shifts every couple of weeks into a new experiment.
Lager and sad quotes?
Honestly, the whole summer it was more of drinking regular lager versus all of the craft beer for me. Apart from that all of those craft beers are just stupid expensive, it also means more than often I end up with a banging head because these beers have such a banging percentage of alcohol in there.
For outdoor activities and having a beer on the side: Well maybe just a simple lager does the trick as well and it makes you feel a lot better the morning after compared to these heavy hitters.
On the way passing home I saw this gigantic sign on a building saying 'In the beginning I had to do everything by myself' . I don't know, it kind of felt like sad statement for on a building?
Or is the statement that that was more like 'back in the days'. and we are doing it all together now a bit more? Well, I know drinking a couple of brewskies is more of a thing of doing all together.
Happy weekend guys!
