Good day! It’s me again, @fevyulous, and today’s another day which means another story to tell, a story close to my heart, especially as we recently celebrated National Teachers’ Month (September 5 to October 5). This blog is not just about my two-month teaching internship, but also a tribute to myself and to every teacher who continues to inspire, guide, and shape young minds with love and dedication. ![IMG20200510080758_polarr_125619~3.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/fevyulous/23xei2FJGuuJ7uwEJhC7pYwUdnS2LBPpENLSJiJCVjEsAWANZoAvJN3PPB5r176MzKBS1.jpg) To be a teacher is a dream not new to me. Since childhood, this profession has always been close to my heart. I grew up watching my mother, who is also a teacher, inspire her pupils in her own special way, treating them like her own children, teaching them life lessons, and helping them develop skills that would shape their future. I witnessed her patience, her dedication, and the love she poured into her work. Despite life’s challenges, my mother never showed exhaustion. Instead, she wore her brightest smile inside the classroom, lighting up her students’ day. That’s how my love story with teaching began. However, the road to becoming a teacher was not always easy. During my Senior High School years, my confidence dropped. I transferred to a new school with a new environment, and it took a toll on me. I became shy, quiet, and unsure of myself. I began to question whether I was really meant to teach. Whenever people asked what course I wanted to take in college, I was too shy to admit that I dreamed of becoming a teacher. I feared they might laugh and think I wasn’t qualified for it. But during the summer break of that year, something changed. I reflected deeply and realized that teaching is not just a profession, it’s my calling. I decided to pursue education and took the entrance exam at a well-known state university in our city. Thankfully, I passed and enrolled in the Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Social Studies. When college started, reality hit me hard. I was culture-shocked by the workload, the new faces, and the new system. Still, I promised myself to keep going. Whenever I got low scores or doubted my ability, I reminded myself that this was my childhood dream and I owed it to the little girl who once looked up to her mother in admiration. ![IMG_20251013_005010_492.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/fevyulous/EoeESRYchXfiGDEkWvZNoKrmtn9Gy2CSRBsV7jv4sZvhQExxq2iXmrYYeReDviD4gfA.jpg) ![IMG_20251013_005016_017.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/fevyulous/23wqpoXrWZmdkP8s26aHyW8FGvFGqzZGicd1dQwZpfvJAYjyDSLCT35K7nYftML3ofEGi.jpg) ![IMG_20251013_005005_471.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/fevyulous/23zGgSEoiU19c7XWSgVf9255SirYhsA3dWrkkYB6s8dxsFeKMfZ8BR2xzrSYsmxXag2iT.jpg) Fast forward to my fourth year in college, the most memorable phase of my journey. It was the year of Field Study and Practice Teaching, the time when education students finally step into real classrooms. ![IMG_20251013_004948_323.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/fevyulous/23xowwzETnrFQHGZApLFeEnRRNkWLeVDe7pNgt1yTrBC7p21hMpQ9rxjNfD4JMjpr1mEg.jpg) ![IMG_20251013_004912_944.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/fevyulous/23xedsbU1MMtymLqA7Z7TCphNi8PdP9F8gyz3CcEkhiZc8bgWmAshkBJVCpynwphVpfXu.jpg) ![IMG_20251013_004858_904.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/fevyulous/23wqdqj84M5G1UcdXMaW7wJAnmiztfcKttCpGKDabc1zsJzhRspFfuk7C8H7swsu6L2bN.jpg) At first, I expected to teach high school students since I was a Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSED) student. But to my surprise, I was assigned to teach Grade 6 pupils in my alma mater. At first, it was challenging because the strategies I learned in college were mostly designed for high school learners. Still, I adapted quickly. I made my classes fun and engaging through interactive games, colorful PowerPoint presentations, and creative activities that made learning Philippine History more exciting. ![IMG_20251013_004951_666.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/fevyulous/23zbVvCr2v8n9fD5eUARRSiqzCCRw3qgLBXA2oUwNVMbLqPm9LzZJX2kWQne2w3d7v3QJ.jpg) ![IMG_20251013_004845_459.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/fevyulous/23wzzWJoJS6ixqTziXT17MMMT4SEKVmwBdSCMED5jYHXq7PnrVVoPXk7jbS11nD1xrzMD.jpg) My goal was to change how children saw History, that it wasn’t boring or unimportant. I wanted them to understand the value of our past, the sacrifices of our heroes, and the meaning of the freedom we enjoy today. Seeing their smiles, hearing their laughter, and watching them participate actively gave me a sense of fulfillment that words can’t describe. ![IMG_20251013_005340_920.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/fevyulous/23wgHvvSCgrSojZd4pBMeMxA3L2svCQ5cB2s3miVv9CW2CYjn9udT2A3gdFNW24QAfw7a.jpg) ![IMG_20251013_005059_850.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/fevyulous/23ydA5m56PxeQWiwxkyKQXri8sauV2eAMmwSf1KWWZqDGALfzGsPx9PsqLkHeHs8VgUp8.jpg) ![IMG_20251013_005026_893.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/fevyulous/23xAnaejSmmNwSECzckZC4mA18K3pL27yXENQjjcgpHUX5LYFhcNHy7awJUq3bhoygC6t.jpg) Just when I had grown attached to my Grade 6 pupils, I received news that I had to transfer, along with four other practice teachers to another school to experience teaching high school students. This time, I handled Grade 9 and Grade 10 learners, which was both exciting and challenging. I had to teach multiple sections, prepare different lessons, and create new teaching strategies that fit teenagers’ interests. ![IMG_20251013_004935_255.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/fevyulous/23wg9PGQDeKZ72hn7KW73Ne1Yu6DiHK6puwPt4grJzSZuwkSYhDm2mKUkHRV7VjSHPdMG.jpg) ![IMG_20251013_005315_844.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/fevyulous/AJhY4Ke4kc2YKD2FMzjziR8qBznKX4JJWU34Ad8RYGbPHQ6tYNSxyEK7M3uqLVu.jpg) ![IMG_20251013_004930_004.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/fevyulous/23xyTNcueYxfmEQbiVs1ifumQhNhCJByK5RGYsMYZgmRtVNyQthM7cFTNw1jiSkdrnuPD.jpg) ![IMG_20251013_005047_116.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/fevyulous/23yToMiLiJm3ggSZWjJxrSvgrufJb7RtWgGTDsKT8UsgKJdCxNkqSEBjoiyLxPJ9fVkvb.jpg) ![IMG_20251013_005302_625.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/fevyulous/23x1KyoojrzRc8vNhHrMHLwuzMh3mjpWVWrkw5gPv5MtQ7oRVvosCBairh7615VXeMhjG.jpg) It wasn’t easy, but I embraced the challenge. I poured my heart into every lesson, incorporating trends, games, and discussions that made Social Studies more relevant and relatable. What I love about teaching this subject is that it encourages students to become mindful citizens, aware of what’s happening in society, understanding history’s lessons, and contributing positively to the nation’s future. ![Black Monochrome Simple Photo Motivational Quote Mobile Wallpaper_20251013_013134_0000.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/fevyulous/23wC3FqwB6yKPL2BV7widqrpTVv7q26aUf6S2fjbqwQJhwUtJUFTXStT5fuBgXCYfMXjA.jpg) ![IMG_20251013_005247_154.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/fevyulous/23wWyPeFc1ZvYFkJzMDR9bikDwY9fiiBQ2wZhuqBkdfUf34C4PRPupWKbq3dxaTmWv5vz.jpg) When graduation day came, I watched my high school students walk on stage, and I couldn’t hold back my tears. I felt like a proud mother seeing her children move forward to the next chapter of their lives. I silently prayed for their continued success and happiness as they enter Senior High School. At that moment, I also thought of my elementary students from my previous school—their laughter, their stories, and our shared memories in class. I whispered a silent prayer for them, too—for their happiness, growth, and bright future ahead. I truly miss them. ![Black Monochrome Simple Photo Motivational Quote Mobile Wallpaper_20251013_011914_0000.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/fevyulous/23vhsRyKtsFzEbuiUAB5QSrQpcsAsVHZJcT15am9TcsUws2F2yVUBRr8GPcw82v372sxk.jpg) ![IMG_20251013_005327_744.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/fevyulous/Eos2FGduBVUDSm2NQP2neRsHEYJtASTYHGEEy5Y5EC1VhTiZhb3LNLN5Ahkpu1nyFUC.jpg) ![IMG_20251013_005124_091.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/fevyulous/23ynQg8j72sDTJHmVBiiYYmassh8uzFR1XWmUXEwWzDvGWH2e52K3RFPZYiwyDxp36wGp.jpg) ![Black Monochrome Simple Photo Motivational Quote Mobile Wallpaper_20251013_012228_0000.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/fevyulous/23tbq7DnN2EwzqkCWVP7KYBi3iX6gaUMbDquVfzYstAacadp4hhbZsctB1m2QhVXcVHxo.jpg) My two-month teaching internship was short, but it was meaningful beyond measure. It taught me that teaching is more than just delivering lessons, it’s about inspiring, caring, and shaping the hearts and minds of the next generation. That’s it for now, Hivers!
