Vengo en modo mamá orgullosa porque hace unas semanas, se celebró el Campeonato Nacional de Karate, en el estilo Shuri Ryu y fue la primera competencia en la vida de mi hijo, en la cancha de baloncesto de la Universidad Simón Bolívar. El Campeonato comenzó a las 9:00a.m., pero mi hijo se adelantó con su Sensei, porque, aunque él competiría a eso de las 3:00, debía estar allá para brindar apoyo en cuanto a logística, pues el Dojo Genki, que es la escuela de Karate a la que asiste mi hijo debía estar allá desde temprano. >! Yo fui más tarde con mis dos hermanos, mi ex esposo y padre de Gabo, mi sobrino y su novia. Cuando llegamos a la Universidad y comenzamos a acercarnos a la cancha de baloncesto, escuchaba gritos y mucha algarabía y el corazón se me aceleró de la emoción. En la imagen de arriba, mi hijo está nervioso porque finalmente, a las 4 de la tarde, estaban a punto de llamar a los de su categoría para hacer el Kata y posteriormente, competir y nosotros, como su familia, estábamos allí para apoyarlo y hacerle barras, pero él apenas reparaba en nosotros. Estaba bastante asustado, pero contaba con tres personas maravillosas: su Sensei y sus dos Senpais, que en todo momento, estuvieron con él. >! Finalmente, llegó el momento de su Kata. Estaba nervioso y aunque cometió un par de errores, le valió una medalla de plata, su primera medalla en su primer campeonato. ¡Qué emoción sentí! Aunque confieso que apenas puso sus pies en el tatami, yo estaba temblando de nervios. Si yo estaba así, no puedo imaginar como estaba él. Después de que cada uno de los deportistas hiciera su Kata, comenzaría el Kumite de su categoría. En este punto, sé que por ser su primera vez, como lo he mencionado antes, cometió errores por inexperiencia, ya que el protector bucal le molestaba y no le permitió hacer el Kiai, que es el grito corto y potente que deben hacer para que la potencia del golpe sea más fuerte. Al no hacerlo, el karateca pierde puntos automáticamente. No obstante, obtuvo una medalla de bronce en el Kumite. El video que comparto acá abajo, es muy cortito, porque no me di cuenta de que la cámara no estaba grabando y cuando me di cuenta, ya estaba casi finalizando su participación. >! De igual manera, al ser una persona autoexigente, se sintió mal porque pensó que lo había hecho mal, que no había dado la talla y su cara fue de infinita sorpresa cuando se llevó la medalla de bronce en el Kumite. Su Sensei estaba feliz y me lo dijo más tarde, que era difícil que alguien se llevase una medalla en su primera competencia y mi hijo se trajo dos, así que no puedo sentir otra cosa que orgullo. Desde la competencia, mi hijo ha entrenado fuerte y ha cambiado mucho, está más preparado, más seguro y más fuerte. >!
