Hello friends! With this post I make my official entry to the 58th week of the Phone Photo Contest, which each edition is taking more territory among those who love to capture moments with their phones, just like me. The pictures I present today are of the beautiful animals that I saw a few weeks ago at the Caricuao Zoo in Caracas, Venezuela, highlighting the little monkey that you can see in the first picture and the raccoon that you will see in the last picture of this post.
 
¡Hola amigos! Con este post hago mi entrada oficial a la semana 58 del Concurso de Fotografías con Teléfono, que cada edición va tomando más territorio entre los amantes de capturar momentos con su teléfono, tal como yo. Las fotografías que hoy les presento son de los hermosos animales que pude apreciar hace unas semanas en el Zoológico de Caricuao en Caracas, Venezuela, resaltando ese monito que pueden ver en la primera foto y el mapache que apreciarán en la última fotografía de este post.
 
It's not easy to take pictures of animals, at least not with a cell phone. They are usually very nervous and move a lot, especially birds and monkeys, in fact I think the only ones that were very quiet were the felines, but they didn't even want to look at people 😅 and the bad thing about felines is that they are usually behind cages that do not allow good pictures, although I remember that in other cities lions are behind glass walls and it is easier to observe them.
 
No es nada fácil tomar fotos a los animales, al menos no con un celular. Ellos suelen ser muy nerviosos y se mueven mucho, especialmente las aves y los monos, de hecho creo que los únicos que estaban muy tranquilos eran los felinos, pero ni siquiera querían voltear a ver a las personas 😅 y lo malo de los felinos es que generalmente están detrás de jaulas que no permiten que salgan buenas imágenes, aunque recuerdo que en otras ciudades los leones están detrás de paredes de vidrio y es más fácil observarlos.
 
Zoos are not my favorite places, but over the years I have noticed the effort they have made to improve the habitat for the animals. Particularly in this place most of the animals are loose and interacting with people, they are very friendly and pretend to be clean. Many of them walk among us and in every corner there are monkeys sharing with people, and unlike other zoos, these monkeys did not seem to me to be thieves, at least they did not steal from people, but they did steal from parrots.
 
Los zoológicos no son mis lugares preferidos, pero con los años he notado el esfuerzo que han hecho por mejorar el habitad de los animales. Particularmente en este lugar la mayoría de los animales están sueltos e interactuando con las personas, son muy amigables y simulan estar limpios. Muchos de ellos caminan entre nosotros y en cada rincón están los monos compartiendo con la gente, y a diferencia de otros zoológicos, estos monos no me parecieron que fueran ladrones, al menos no robaban a las personas, pero sí a las guacamayas 🤣
 
Besides the felines, I think the only dangerous animals were the caimans and all the reptiles, but they have a special place to appreciate them very safely. I didn't know this place and I'm glad I did, by the way I have another zoo in mind to visit in the future, a place that is usually very popular here in Caracas too, so possibly more adventures and pictures are waiting for me together with the animals, and I hope to share them soon. Además de los felinos, creo que los únicos animales peligrosos eran los caimanes y todos los reptiles, pero tienen un lugar especial para apreciarlos con mucha seguridad. No conocía este lugar y me alegra haberlo hecho, por cierto tengo otro zoológico en mente para visitar en el futuro, un lugar que suele ser muy popular aquí en Caracas también, así que posiblemente me esperen más aventuras y fotografías junto a los animales, y espero compartirlas pronto.
