Eating is an art, where people silently love to finish the food in a very clean and hyginic manner. I have seen so many people eating delicately while in Big restaurant or in groups even at their office. High society people doesn't even make sounds while eating. But in contrast many Indians love to enjoy the food with hands using their fingers.

Most of the Indian simply enjoy the food with hands. They do not get satisfied I ate food with hands. Although many people are not habitual to spoon or forks, but even many like me who knows the use of spoon and forks simply loves to intake foods with our finger.

Many find it complicated and also call it unhygenic / messy way of eating. But in vedic tradition, Our hands and feet are said to be the conduits of the five elements – space, air, fire, water and earth. When we eat with our hands because of the five elements within them begin to transform food and make it digestible even before it reaches the mouth.

Let me share, how it is done in right way. Firstly, cut a piece from flattened bread, may be chapati,or this puffed one. The first four fingers comes into play. Place the Index and middle on top and bisected the bread with thumb and ring finger.

Once the piece is ready, we will make a bite of it with availbale stuffs. Put the piece of the bread in the curry, or lentils or veggies. Many people make use of spoon, to put the gravy, or curry using the left hand onto the bread piece.

Our bite is ready to be eaten, if done in a better way neither the fingers nor the hands gets spoiled with the gravy or curry. We can tease this way and take them to our mouth.

Step 3 Rolling it to make bite

Directly taking into mouth , and chew it properly. Some expert has said that to completelly break the food, we must chew them 24 times.

Same ways goes with Rice, biryani eating where we mix all the stuff and make bites with our fingers and take them to mouth. Our culture and tradition allow us to be free while eating. Earlier we are not aware about eating food with spoon and forks. But the new generation and the changing lifestyle brought the chamges and many people have adapted to the new system and forgetting the vedic way of eating. They too find hand eating as messy which spoil their hands.

But for me and many other people like me eating food with hands alwsys bring happiness and makes food fingerlicious delicious.

Peace !!
