Happy Monday, everyone! It's been very busy here, but we successfully completed our rehearsals, and the sacred repertoire has turned out beautifully. We're literally ready for Italy. The choir has been split up for a while to share commitments in two different venues, and I'm very happy to say that I'm part of the group that will sing in Rome, specifically for the canonization of José Gregorio Hernández and Carmen Rendiles. It hasn't been easy; the orchestras will also be traveling, and there are few spaces to rehearse, but on the last day, we had the Fedora Alemán Hall all to ourselves, and we were able to make music with a more complete idea of how it will sound in large venues.

La coral se ha dividido por un tiempo para compartir compromisos en dos lugares diferentes, y con mucha dicha puedo decir que estoy en la selección que cantará en Roma, específicamente en la canonización de José Gregorio Hernández y Carmen Rendiles. No ha sido fácil, las orquestas también viajarán y son pocos los espacios para llevar a cabo el ensayo, pero el último día tuvimos la Sala Fedora Alemán solo para nosotros y pudimos hacer música con una idea más completa de como sonará en lugares grandes.
I say this because our choir is currently made up of 90 people, and this selection going to Italy is only made up of 22 singers, so a lot of things change: the sound, the concentration, and every detail that doesn't go right is very exposed. In fact, we always have the comfort of singing with 89 others, and I personally breathe wherever I want. Not here; everything has to be clearly defined, even the breathing. There's a notable difference with the guys who went to Mexico: they had the opportunity to do a small concert, but we're leaving as a chamber choir as a whole. >Digo esto porque nuestra coral es de 90 personas en la actualidad y esta selección que va a Italia solo es de 22 cantantes, así que cambian muchas cosas, el sonido, la concentración y cada detalle que no salga bien está muy expuesto, de hecho siempre tenemos la comodidad de cantar con otros 89 y particularmente yo respiro donde me da la gana 😅 aquí no, aquí todo tiene que estar bien marcado, hasta las respiraciones. Hay una notable diferencia con los muchachos que fueron van a México, y es que ellos tuvieron oportunidad de hacer un pequeño concierto, pero nosotros nos vamos vírgenes como coro de cámara...
Still, I know everything will be fine. We're all very talented, and when we focus, we can achieve musical magic. The last day was great because there was a photo shoot and interviews with television channels. The important thing is that the music is ready, and everything is very beautiful and delicate, ideal for singing at the Vatican during Ordinary Time and for a canonization, a festive event—no sad Holy Week music. If you're Venezuelan, you can't miss this Catholic event, although in our country it will be broadcast at 3 a.m. on Sunday the 19th 😬 Even I'd think about it! 🤣 >Aún así, sé que todo estará bien, todos somos muy talentosos y cuando nos concentramos logramos magia musical. El último día fue genial porque hubo sesión fotográfica y entrevistas a canales de televisión. Lo importante es que la música está lista y todo es muy hermoso y delicado, ideal para entonar en el Vaticano en tiempo ordinario y para cantar en una canonización, un evento festivo, nada de música triste de Semana Santa. Si eres venezolano, no puedes perderte este evento católico, aunque en nuestro país será transmitido a las 3 de la mañana del Domingo 19 😬 ¡Hasta yo lo pensaría! 🤣
