Today I thought I'd entertain you with another art cocktail. I'm trying to make these posts regular, because I like them, I like how it makes you think which one you like the most and I hope I'm not the only one.
Choosing between sculptures, paintings, textile art, photography, you name it, makes it more interesting in my eyes. I'm cleaning my folders anyway, so it's a good occasion to post the photos that are not posted yet.
Let's start with this landscape, by an artist called Vera Dan. A very talented artist, but I feel like landscapes are not her specialty. I've posted about her other works last year in March or April and can solemnly swear, I prefer the other works. This landscape is nice, but not really for me.
Another painting from the same artist and now you see what I was talking about earlier. Obviously each to their own, but I like this one better. My knowledge about art is not enough to know what style this is. Is it abstract? Abstract portrait? Don't know, but it doesn't even matter as it is good as it is. I like how the man is wrapped in tin, like a cage. So many times we feel the same, like being hostage in a situation and we can't escape.
A painting from Ioan Alexandru Herdelau, an old lady, that you see in villages. Looks like she's thinking of the good old times. After visiting the exhibition, which was last year in June, came to the conclusion that the most important in a portrait for the artist is the eyes. This painting is not any different. There's the orange-red background and the blurred bust, but what strikes you is the eyes. I would not hang it on my wall, but it's really good.
Another painting from Ioan Alexandru Herdelau, one which would have a place on my wall for sure. I've seen several paintings with this brushstroke style and I love it. Faces are blurred, there's no clear outline, which makes the painting particular and I love it. I love the colors used here, just a few and white and light shades are dominating. Very good decision.
Morning in Alcsik, a foggy photo, that will always be my dream. I love the blueish light and how the photographer chose the location. Those lands add a lot to the beauty of the photo.
Fiery Beauty, a lovely poppy in an even lovelier light.
Now comes the fun part. This wooden bike was parked in the exhibition room in 2022, but it was not exhibited. It's not a work of art, but in my eyes it is. Look at the execution, how lovely the design is. The owner is unknown, the artist is unknown, but whoever made it, is an exceptional artist in my eyes.
This is a photo I took in April, 2023, at a solo exhibition of Béla Szepessi, an exhibition called Hungarian Simplicissimus. It's lithography, a type of art that is not for everyone, because it's monochrome and not only. I can't say I'm a fan of it as it can be depressing, but I have respect for those who are able to create such artworks.
Nagyvárad - Oradea
Look at this one. Even if you don't like it, you must admit, you need some skills to create such a detailed masterpiece. These are usually about old cityscapes, fortresses, churches, battles and so on. This was a big piece, so I'm wondering how much time you would need to finish such a big work. This is history was well as it's not fiction, it's about a Transylvanian city.
We're changing style here and continuing with a more colorful style. This photo was taken in August, 2023 at a solo exhibition of Zsolt Simon, that had as title Image - Sign.
It was a three piece series, a triptych, called Art Studio.
I think I'll leave this to you, to tell me why is it called Art Studio and what you see here. I like the black background and the colorful drawings and special thanks for using black frames, which was the best choice in my opinion.
This is it for today, I hope you have some favorites. Let me know in a comment.
