Sometimes when I look at my photos from many years ago, I feel I had much more passion—or that I saw more, and saw better… not in the literal sense of seeing, but of truly observing.

I used to get lost in the streets of Havana and talk to people. Now, perhaps, I’m a bit of a hermit.
It took a long time to restore our Capitol. I like having this photo because it reminds me how much things can improve. 2014
