Winter just keeps hanging on.

It's supposed to be spring now, and somebody needs to tell winter that. 012.jpg

However, the flowers, and reptiles are dressed in their finest.

Thick cloud covered skies, and an icy wind pitched up with what we hope will be winter's last stand. The temperatures are dropping, and rain is forecasted for the week. We are in a winter rainfall area, and it's supposed to stop now in spring, but no such luck. The areas behind the mountains and further up north in the country are all in summer rainfall areas, and you can imagine how we feel when we listen on the radio to the high 20C+ temperatures over there.

I have had to cobble this post together as, due to the bad weather outside, I did not get out to take any photos today. But thankfully there is always a tomorrow, and if it is the same as today then I will just have to post some more photos from my files. I really don't like to do this because I like to post what I get on the day, but then again beggars can't be choosers. Come and see what I have for you.

Lovely flower, and the dwarf gecko also seems to think so. In fact, the geckos wait patiently for the small insects that creep up into the flower bulbs, and then they have them for their lunch.

There was also a spring baby gecko crawling around on the plants. 008.JPG

Now for something else.

I think the female weaver was doing her nails here below:) 041.JPG

And there was also another customer hanging around on the same plant. 040.JPG

It was a little Southern Double-collared sunbird. 031.JPG

Two plants were growing up as pals. An Arum Lily at the bottom, and two Proteas behind it. 066.JPG

Some pinky-purple daisies, and I don't think those little white daisies are their babies:) 065.JPG

Finally, I will show you our late afternoon sun.

That is mister sun himself struggling with the clouds. 066.JPG

But the sun lost the battle, and you can see it hidden behind the cloud at the top of the picture. 042.JPG

Those rays were the sun's teardrops, as the clouds won the battle. 043.JPG

I took the photos during the past days of sunshine, but like I said above winter is in its last throes. However, I am not complaining as we need the water, and we had less rain than we had last winter. So, there is a bit of concern and let's hope that the blazing African sun doesn't drink too much water out of the dams, instead we hope that the current rainfall cast will put a bit more water in the dams. Such is life.

Such is life.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures and the story.
