Hello to all the members of this community, lovers of photography and art! Taking a break from my life in the capital, I didn't think I would end up having the opportunity to attend a couple of art exhibitions, including "Mundo que nos habitan: Pueblo que somos", the presentation of the Artist of the Month of the Barquisimeto Museum and about which I will talk to you on this occasion: The art that unites us. Expo tallers libres 2025, where all the works made by the students of the workshops taught at the School of Plastic Arts "Martin Tovar y Tovar" were presented.

I was quite excited about the exhibition when I found the information on Instagram. That school is quite well-known in the city of Barquisimeto (Venezuela) for being the birthplace of artists who ended up achieving recognition in the region. I always wanted to study there, and for a short time, I took an anatomical drawing class, but I couldn't continue because the teacher had to leave for personal reasons. I don't know why I had the idea that the place wouldn't be so crowded and that it would be a small exhibition, considering that the school offers different subjects. When I arrived, the place was packed with people: teachers, students, and their families, eager to enter the rooms and see the works on display.

The place was so packed that I had to wait a bit to get in. Not only because of the heat, but also to have the opportunity to take pictures, because everyone was excitedly posing with the paintings and works on display. I don't blame them. When my eyes met those works, I was impressed and found it hard to contain my desire to photograph everything I could, always looking for the best angle, although I confess it wasn't an easy task, because, as I mentioned, there were a lot of people in the space.

First, I encountered drawings made on pieces of fabric, where the human figure reigned supreme. On the other hand, I encountered amigurumis and other crocheted items, as well as sculptures and figures made of clay and other materials. I have clay at home that I haven't dared to use yet, so seeing these pieces motivated me to take a day to see how I feel about working with something new.

The walls were completely covered with paintings and drawings, oil paintings, acrylic paintings, and more. That colorful display, filled with diverse figures, made you want to see everything without missing a single detail. Each artist, of different ages, captured their aspirations, tastes, and visions on these canvases. Every time I came across a painting, I gazed at it in silence and allowed myself to be captivated by each artist and their moment of creation, that unbreakable bond that always exists between the artist and their art.

The children, who were the main protagonists, being the ones who benefited the most from these workshops, were excited and happy to show their paintings to their families and friends. I noticed not only the works, but also their reactions. After attending several art exhibitions in the city, what I often encounter in the galleries is that silence, which is only broken for a few brief moments before reforming. In contrast, at this exhibition, there was intense bustle, but instead of being annoying, I found that "chaotic" and noisy atmosphere charming.

Seeing the massive interest of those people in what they were witnessing was very pleasing for me. I would love to see that same interest in the galleries and museums among the attendees, a joy for what they saw, an inspiration to develop. The city has very few spaces dedicated to art exhibitions, but so many potential artists. I sincerely hope that many of those who trained in those courses continue their paths as artists, because they are truly talented in all their forms.

After a few minutes, the rooms began to clear out a bit, so I took the opportunity to take some more photographs where some of the works could be seen together. I think those are some of my favorites, not only because of how colorful they look, but because of the contrast between the pieces. Just thinking that they were made by children and young people fills me with satisfaction, even though I don't know any of them. I'm sure many of you would be wondering who I was related to, since I was so interested in what was there 😅

It's certainly fascinating what one can find browsing social media; it's not all about leisure. I advise you, if you're an art lover, to follow the accounts of places that promote the art and culture of your region. We often miss out on beautiful events or exhibitions like these due to lack of awareness. In my case, I always feel enormously motivated after encountering art. After all, I'm on my own path as an artist, and I believe that connecting with the work of others is essential to staying in good spirits ✨

¡Hola a todos los integrantes de esta comunidad, amantes de la fotografía y del arte! Al tomarme un descanso de mi vida en la capital, no pensé que acabaría teniendo la oportunidad de asistir a un par de exposiciones artísticas, entre ellas, "Mundo que nos habitan: Pueblo que somos", la presentación del Artista del Mes del Museo de Barquisimeto y sobre la cual les hablaré en ésta oportunidad: El arte que nos une. Expo talleres libres 2025, en donde se presentaron todos los trabajos realizados por los estudiantes de los talleres que se imparten en la Escuela de Artes Plásticas "Martin Tovar y Tovar".

Estaba bastante entusiasmada con la exposición cuando me encontré con la información a través de Instagram. Aquella escuela es bastante reconocida en la ciudad de Barquisimeto (Venezuela), por ser la cuna de artistas que acabaron siendo reconocidos en la región. Yo siempre quise estudiar ahí y durante un corto periodo, estuve en una clase de dibujo anatómico artístico, pero no pude continuar porque el profesor tuvo que retirarse por motivos personales. No sé porqué tenía la idea de que el lugar no estaría tan lleno y que se trataría de una pequeña exposición, siendo que la escuela ofrece deferentes materias. Cuando llegué, el lugar estaba abarrotado de gente, profesores, alumnos y familiares de los mismos, estaban ansiosos por ingresar a las salas y ver las obras expuestas.

El lugar estaba tan lleno, que tuve que esperar un poco para poder ingresar. No sólo por el calor, sino también para tener la oportunidad de tomar fotografías, porque todos los asistentes estaban emocionados posando con los cuadros y trabajos expuestos. No los culpo. Cuando mis ojos se hallaron con aquellas obras, quedé impresionada y se me hizo difícil no aguantar mi deseo de fotografiar todo lo que pude, siempre buscando el mejor ángulo, aunque confieso que no fue una labor sencilla, porque como les mencioné, había muchísima gente en el espacio.

Primero, me encontré con dibujos realizados sobre trozos de tela, en donde reinaba la figura humana. Por otro lado, los amigurumis y demás tejidos de crochet, así como las esculturas y figuras de arcilla u otros materiales. Tengo arcilla en casa que aún no me he atrevido a usar, así que ver estas piezas me motivó a tomarme un día para ver qué tal me resulta trabajar con algo nuevo.

Las paredes estaban completamente forradas de cuadros y dibujos, pintados al oleo, pinturas acrílicas, entre otros. Aquel despliegue colorido, lleno de figuras varias, te llevaban a querer ver todo sin perderte ni un sólo detalle. Cada artista de diferentes edades, plasmó en esos lienzos sus aspiraciones, sus gustos y sus visiones. Cada vez que me hallaba con un cuadro, lo miraba en silencio y me dejaba atrapar por cada artista y su momento de creación, ese vinculo inquebrantable que se genera siempre entre el artista y su arte.

Los niños, quienes eran los principales protagonistas al ser en su mayoría los que más aprovechan estos talleres, se hallaban emocionados y felices de presentarles a sus familiares y conocidos, aquello que habían pintado. No sólo me fijé en las obras, sino también en esas reacciones. Luego de haber ido a varias exposiciones de arte en la ciudad, lo que más me suelo encontrar en las salas es ese silencio, que apenas se ve roto por unos breves instantes para de nuevo, volver a formarse. En cambio, en esta exposición había un bullicio intenso, pero en lugar de ser molesto, aquel ambiente "caótico" y ruidoso, me pareció encantador.

Ver el interés masivo de aquellas personas por lo que estaban presenciando, fue muy gustoso para mí. Me encantaría ver ese mismo interés en las galerías y museos por parte de los asistentes, una alegría por lo observado, una inspiración para formarse. La ciudad tiene muy pocos espacios destinados a la exposición de arte, pero tantos artistas potenciales. De todo corazón espero que muchos de los que se formaron en esos cursos, continúen sus caminos como artistas, porque son realmente talentosos en todas sus formas.

Luego de unos minutos, las salas comenzaron a despejarse un poco, así que aproveché de tomar de nuevo, unas fotografías en donde pudiera apreciarse algunas obras en conjunto. Creo que esas son de mis favoritas, no sólo por lo colorido que se ven, sino por el contraste que hacen las piezas y de sólo pensar que fueron hechas por niños y jóvenes, me llena de satisfacción, a pesar de que no conozco a ninguno jaja Seguramente, varios se preguntarían de quién sería familiar por estar tan interesada en lo que allí había 😅

Sin duda, es fascinante lo que uno puede encontrarse revisando en las redes sociales, no todo es ocio. Les aconsejo que si son amantes del arte, sigan las cuentas de los lugares que fomentan el arte y la cultura de sus regiones. Muchas veces nos perdemos eventos o exposiciones tan bellas como estas por desconocimiento. En mi caso, siempre me siento como una enorme motivación luego de tener encuentros con el arte, después de todo, yo misma estoy en mi camino de artista y considero que entrar en comunión con el trabajo de otros, es primordial para seguir con buen ánimo ✨
