During my summer vacation on the beautiful Amalfi Coast, I also took a day trip to Italy's third-largest city. I brought along my camera, my brand-new 50mm F2.5 lens, and my glass ball. Although I only had a few hours in Naples, I found some great photography spots for my crystal ball, and I would like to share my pictures with you in today's post.
Im Zuge meines Sommerurlaubs an der wunderschönen Amalfiküste machte ich auch einen Tagesausflug in die drittgrößte Stadt Italiens. Mit im Gepäck waren meine Kamera, mein brandneues 50mm F2.5 Objektiv und meine Glaskugel. Obwohl ich nur ein paar Stunden in Neapel hatte, fand ich doch einige tolle Glaskugel Fotos-Spots und meine Bilder davon möchte ich euch im heutigen Beitrag zeigen.
My first stop was the Galleria Umberto I – an elegant shopping arcade from the late 19th century, designed in the so-called Stile Umbertino by Emanuele Rocco. It was built as part of the city's “Risanamento” program to revitalize and modernize the city. With its cross-shaped structure, covered by a glass dome made of iron and glass, it offered me ideal conditions for my glass ball photography.
Mein erster Spot war die Galleria Umberto I – eine elegante Einkaufspassage aus dem späten 19. Jahrhundert, gestaltet im sogenannten Stile Umbertino von Emanuele Rocco. Sie wurde damals als Teil des städtischen „Risanamento“ zur Belebung und Modernisierung der Stadt errichtet. Mit ihrer kreuzförmigen Struktur, bedeckt von einer gläsernen Kuppel aus Eisen und Glas, bot sie mir ideale Bedingungen für meine Glaskugel-Fotografie.
The next two spots were directly opposite on Piazza del Plebiscito. In the first photo, you can see the Basilica of San Francesco di Paola. The church was built in the neoclassical style—with a portico, dome, and design strongly reminiscent of the Pantheon in Rome. Construction began under King Joachim Murat around 1816, but was continued by Ferdinand I and dedicated to church building, completed around 1846. The second picture shows an arcade of the entrance area of the Palazzo Reale – an imposing 17th-century Baroque royal palace that was once the residence of the Spanish and later the Bourbon rulers.
Die nächsten beiden Spots befanden sich direkt gegenüber auf der Piazza del Plebiscito. Auf dem ersten Fotos seht ihr die Basilica San Francesco di Paola. Die Kirche wurde im neoklassizistischen Stil errichtet – mit Portikus, Kuppel und Gestaltung, die stark an das Pantheon in Rom erinnern. Der Bau begann unter König Joachim Murat um 1816, wurde aber von Ferdinand I. fortgesetzt und zum Kirchenbau gewidmet, vollendet ca. 1846. Das zweite Bild zeigt eine Arkade des Eingangsbereichs des Palazzo Reale – ein imposanter barocker Königspalast aus dem 17. Jahrhundert, der einst Residenz der spanischen und später der bourbonischen Herrscher war.
The Chiesa del Gesù Nuovo in Naples is a magnificent Baroque church from the 16th century, known for its striking diamond-shaped façade and richly decorated interior with frescoes and marble work. Admission is free and photography is allowed. I took advantage of this, of course, and was quite happy with the results.
Die Chiesa del Gesù Nuovo in Neapel ist eine prächtige Barockkirche aus dem 16. Jahrhundert, bekannt für ihre auffällige diamantförmige Fassade und das reich verzierte Innere mit Fresken und Marmorarbeiten. Der Eintritt ist frei und es gibt kein Fotografie-Verbot. Dies nutzte ich natürlich und war mit dem Ergebnis ziemlich zufrieden.
On the way to the main train station at the end of our day trip, we found a shopping area with an interestingly designed steel and glass roof. This was to be my last glass ball photo spot in Naples. Which of the crystal ball pictures do you like best?
Auf dem Weg zum Hauptbahnhof, am Ende dieses Tagesausflugs fanden wir noch einen Shopping-Bereich mit einem interessant gestalteten Dach aus Stahl und Glas. Dies sollte mein letzter Glaskugel-Fotospot in Neapel sein. Welches Glaskugel-Bild gefällt euch am besten?
