Hello everyone! Zak Ludick here from Cape Town, South Africa! This is Cape Town, harbour and the job and site that I will be working on for the next few months.
Initially, I have around 2.5 weeks worth of work to do on this project, but that is the basics of what I need to accomplish.
Above is a picture of my office container... this is how I walked into it in the morning...
Since we still need to bring all our furniture into the container, it is bare-bones.
We have a great view of both Table Mountain and the Royal Yacht Club from the entrance scaffolding.
After around 6+ Hours of setting up and waiting... here comes the SSN being pulled in by a tug.
Here she is alongside, focussing on the mining systems toward the aft of the vessel. So its main job is to pick up dirt and sift through it, looking for diamonds. The plant systems on board are there to process the diamonds out and then it generally gets rid of the excess overboard.
Luckily I do not have to work in that tower.
Here is the front of the vessel where the accommodation block is. Most of my work is at the front of the vessel here, as well as some offices right at the back.
