Wednesday was a bad day after a bad night. I slept most of the day. It was the last gorgeous day of the week and I’d missed them all. I did get the house plants watered but that was all.
Wednesday night I slept relatively well so on Thursday I was able to do more stuff. I got a load of dishes in the dishwasher then rested until my helper friend came at 11:30AM. Besides a few quick chores and errands the big job was more spring cleaning in the office.
The weather had turned nasty, hot and wicked humid, again, so working in the AC was what we did.
It was a sitting job for both of us, me on a little stool in the corner, him with the vacuum by the table. I’d pull out the CDs, he’d vacuum them and stack them carefully, keeping them in order. I’d dust and polish each shelf and we’d put them all back again and do the next.
It didn’t take as long as I thought it would, so we decided to do the other one. That way the west wall would be done.
So we repeated the process with the DVDs and audio books and the west wall was finished, except for cleaning up the plants that were on each of the top shelves. I hope to do them on Friday.
I have floor mats protecting the floor of the office. In the winter we fixed the tape holding them in place. But some of it had gotten too worn and was a tripping hazard so it needed to be replaced in some places.
There was still time left after doing the floor so we tackled the wood stove. It had gotten some rusty spots, so my helper friend scrubbed them off with a wire brush and I put the polish on. Brainfog hit just them and it never dawned on me to put gloves on until I had to wash the polish off my hands. Sigh…
He also scrubbed off the kettle and I blacked that too. It was around 3PM when we finished, so he did errands and I just rested.
But the pain, which had been mild all day, returned with a vengeance in the evening and it was a bad night.
On Friday he can’t come but my #3 intern is coming and we are going to sort of the second load of tobacco netting to see if much is usable. Then we will get it on the clothesline and wash it down. It’s to be another wicked hot and humid day, so we are starting early.
