The first official trailer for Godzilla: King of the Monsters has finally landed and I've gotta say... it's looking absolutely fucking amazing, it really is. I've been really enjoying the legendary monster-verse that's currently being built, with Godzilla and Kong: Skull Island already available for your viewing pleasure.
The third installment isn't expected until next year, so try not to get too excited. I know, it's not easy. This film is going to not only feature a lot more Godzilla than we got in the first film, but we'll also get to see Mothra, Rodan and the mighty King Ghidorah. We get to see Ghidorah frozen beneath the ice of Antarctica, Rodan emerging from his volcano in Mexico and what seemed like a juvenile Mothra, who must have emerged from her egg in the Temple of the Moth in China. The trailer also confirms that the kaiju are no longer being referred to as Muto, but instead are going by the name Titans, which I feel is a more fitting name, and definitely helps set this monster universe apart from the Japanese kaiju films.
You can explore the world of the Titans in the new viral marketing/ARG website for Monarch, the agency tasked with monitoring and studying these ancient beings. The site itself is really well made, and it's a good way to spend a few minutes catching up on the creature profiles that have been released so far. You can even track Godzilla's movements across the globe in "real-time".

I've never really been a massive fan of the Godzilla franchise, but this new Legendary monsterverse is really shaping up to be something different and exciting. I've got high hopes for this movie, and although I'm not totally sold on Millie Bobby-Brown's acting capabilities, it's still going to be a great monster flick.
