On Wednesday, October 18 the next meeting of the Practical Philosophy Club will again take place at the Kingdom (Biskupia St. 18/1). This time, we the topic is "Loyalty and Betrayal". The meeting will start at 4:30 p.m., and the discussion will be held in English. Admission, as always, is free.
1) What does it mean to be loyal? If betrayal is the opposite of loyalty, can it ever be justified?
2) Is loyalty a virtue, or can it become a moral flaw when it blinds us to truth or justice?
3) Is emotional cheating as serious as physical cheating? Why or why not?
4) Have you ever been betrayed by someone you thought was loyal? What did it teach you?
5) Can a relationship recover from betrayal, or does trust once broken never fully return?
6) How does loyalty function in politics? should citizens be loyal to their country, or to moral principles?
7) Can one be loyal to multiple parties with conflicting interests, and how should one navigate such conflicts?
