It's not normal by any stretch of the imagination for a sunset to continue all the way until the stars come out in force. But I checked and this first picture was a full hour after the last image in this post which was more or less around the start of sunset colors.

The first image here is actually a 5 minute image kind of embracing the star trails.

PANO STARS AND COLOR

This shot is a 3 image panorama at 30 second a picture. Showing the start of when the stars came out and yet the sunset light was still around. Let's just say it was a sunset to remember. 9151_85J2987Pano.jpg

FIRST SUNSET SHOTS

I was actually on the wrong side of the feature in Capitol Reef but when sunset first started it looked good tward the south so a good panorama could handle the feature to the east and the valley southward with the nice colors.

LOOKING WEST

To be honest it was a nice thing sunset lasted that long because we were out on a walk around the feature which can take like an hour if you do a wide circle so that you can get the feature "Jailhouse Rock" in view. And I was hoping to get the rock lit up with colors above it but that never happened so we only got sunset to the west without much in the frame... so it was nice it kept the colors until we finally walked back toward the truck and to the east of Jailhouse Rock.

But here are the shots I got of the west when I was to the west of the feature.
