BozGo, the Health Tracking Smartwatch with Live 3D UI
The other week I backed my first Kickstarter project, the OnePack, a functional backpack for both travelling and day-to-day activities. I came across it after a popular YouTuber by the name of Ashens did a video review for it, and it just seemed really good for the price. I recommend you go check it out, but that isn't the topic of this post, what I want to talk to you about today is another Kickstarter project by the name of BozGo.
I've been using an Asus Zenwatch for a couple of years now and really love it, but it's getting a bit worn around the edges. The watch I had my eye on was the Asus Zenwatch 3, but it's still a little pricey. I've been in the market for a new one for a little while, and I was immediately drawn to the BozGo when I saw it listed on Kickstarter.
The BozGo Smartwatch offers all the functionality you'd expect from a health tracking device and watch, but at a really competitive price. This iOS and Android compatible smartwatch features advanced fitness tracking, heart rate tracking, phone notifications and intelligent sleep monitoring. BozGo works seamlessly 24/7, automatically recognizing walking and running activities during daily use. It also records calories burned and distance traveled, both essential metrics of a healthy lifestyle. At the end of the day, BozGo keeps going, performing intelligent sleep cycle analysis and waking its user with a gentle silent alarm at the optimal time to ensure a good night’s sleep.
I've long had sleep issues so a device that can gently wake me up at the right time is a big appeal. I've researched sleep cycles and so on in the past, but it's very hard to stay in sync when your internal body clock just seems to be going at it's own pace. There are apps available for Android Wear devices, but my current watch just isn't up to the task, and the few apps I did look at didn't offer this kind of functionality.
BozGo uses it's own unique "3D" interface, specially designed to be user-friendly. It's not necessary to study complicated graphs or reports to understand activity performance, as this watch face uses 3D animations to easily show at a glance your daily activities, sleep information, and more. It even has friendly inactivity reminders to help users be fitness minded, which is a feature I for one could definitely benefit from.
BozGo does more than other sports trackers too. It has a suite of new smart functions that set it apart from competitors, including phone notifications and motion controls that can turn on the smartwatch or control a phone camera remotely with just a flip of the wrist. These are some of the functionality I wouldn't want to lose by not having an Android Wear device, so although it may not be as fully integrated with my phone as an Android Wear watch, it's still going to be able to display my notifications. Obviously, there won't be Google Now integration, but that doesn't work too well unless I'm with my phone anyway, and well... I'll just use my phone. BozGo also travels well, its 5 day battery life and 9 language support makes it great for worldwide users. This massive battery life makes this a really attractive watch to anyone who travels, as you won't need to worry about charging it every day. This is what really makes a good smartwatch in my eyes.
The team at BozGo also recognized that a watch is more than just a utilitarian device, it’s an important personal style accessory too. So they made a modular watch and strap system with a wide range of vivid colors. The straps are simple to change, allowing users to show off their style and change up their colors to suit any occasion. It does seem to use a slightly larger than normal strap size, but you should still be able to find third party straps to fit. Oh, and did I mention it's IP67 Waterproof too?
BozGo just launched with special pricing and incentives on Kickstarter to reward early supporters with prices starting at $39 USD, and there's still just over two weeks to go on the campaign. If you want to take advantage of this insanely cheap early bird prices, head on over to the Kickstarter page and make your pledge. You know I already have! The BozGo has an expected shipping date of July 2018, which isn't too long to wait (just keep saying that to yourself). I'll be doing a full review of the watch when I get mine.
