Coming to think of it, the time spent at the beach this year was really low so far, especially since I live in a country with a huge coastline and stunning beaches... and I happen to live pretty close to beaches too, although not the best the country has to offer.
It was a few thousand kms away, in Albania, that I had my last salt water baths.

I had a kind of love-hate relation with these stunning beaches, but the hate part is more related to how the beaches are being treated thanks to excessive tourism and pure greed, with sunbeds and umbrellas stretching all the way to the shoreline in some of them; I've rambled about it before, so time to focus on the good stuff! Because the country has a beautiful coastline, and no shortage of places to go for a swim. How long are some of them? This long!

This was actually the first beach I swam in! Clear water, decent temperature, and a golden hour to go with it. Not a bad start to exploring the Albanian riviera.
Can't say the more urban beaches were bad, but I undoubtly prefer the less crowded versions.

Not that a little bit of confort can't be enjoyed in a lazy day...

... but I'll enjoy it even more if the sand (or pebbles, in most of Albanian beaches) is surrounded by nature. When that's not possible, well, life's better at the beach anyways! And with such clear waters jumping to the water was a constant temptation, especially given how hot the weather was.
And as the beach day comes to an end, there's still time to enjoy the sunset colours, and go for those last dives.

Given that the temperatures around here are still pretty decent, I might be tempted to a few dive here as well, before Autumn kicks in. But at least writing the post already brought me some good memories; and since I've already reserved a few vacation days for the end of the year, I have to start thinking where will I get my winter vibes!
I'm thinking around some country in western Europe, but if you have any suggestions, feel free to drop them in the comments!
