Geylang Bahru is one of the places I’ve been visiting often lately because of its relaxing and calming atmosphere. It may not have the fanciest shopping malls or the most beautiful parks, but it has a very pleasant neighborhood that I find truly relaxing. A simple walk around the area is enough to relieve me of stress after a long day at work.
I often encourage others to do the same instead of going to crowded places, where you’ll most likely end up spending more money shopping or buying things that only provide temporary enjoyment. In the end, those experiences don’t bring lasting satisfaction, you might even feel like you wasted your time and money, especially when it involves overpriced city food or unnecessary purchases.
That’s why I prefer going to neighborhoods like Geylang Bahru. It doesn’t require me to spend anything to enjoy myself. Just walking around is enough to ease my worries and help me recover from the exhaustion of the workweek. I think it’s wonderful that even such a simple activity can be so beneficial—without spending money, I’m not only relaxing but also making a healthier choice by stepping away from the city for a while and avoiding the pollution there.
Of course, a simple walk alone isn’t always enough, which is why I also take photographs whenever I visit places like Geylang Bahru. Especially on nights like this, when the weather is much better than in the past few days—when it was raining almost every day and very unpredictable—I feel it’s the perfect time to take advantage of the good conditions and capture as many photos as I can during my walk.
For me, this is a great way to spend a Friday night without spending any money. That’s why I wanted to share the photos I took earlier. I hope you’re all having a good Friday night as well and enjoy the rest of your weekend.
