Contrary to my usual nature, I'm practically autistic when it comes to running. It always has to be exactly the same route, exactly the same playlist, so that I know exactly how fast or slow I'm going for every song, even every line of the song. I never run in daylight, and if my (THE!) running cap is missing, I spend two hours looking for it because another one won't work. So much for "plem-plem." Conditioning simply does a great job here, because no matter how little you feel like starting a run – as soon as the first bars of the playlist start playing, the switch flips and your body starts working. Great stuff! But now the unthinkable has happened. At a crossroad I spontaneously, for no reason at all, decided to go left instead of right. Uh-oh. What have I done? But while I'm still completely shocked, trying to come to terms with such ego antics, a new world opens up! Suddenly, I'm running past a brightly lit, deserted football stadium and feel like Rocky Balboa, doing his lonely training laps through Philadelphia, dreaming of fame. At the same time, thanks to DJ "Chance," the song for anyone who wants to motivate themselves to achieve the unattainable starts playing: "Hall of Fame“ (by The Script feat. will.i.am) The drug takes effect immediately; I've forgotten my old route, am floating in a daze for the next kilometer, and just run, run, run. Try it: football stadium, "Hall of Fame", change route. Or just one of them. It's awesome—I promise!
