Actaually my first IPA experience I had in Denmark, where this kind of beer already has been established in grocery stores for years (unlike over here in Germany). So besides other typical danish groceries this belongs to the things I usually stock up whenever I am there to visit my best friend. Wich are these? Well, like powdered vanilla sugar, tiny snack lemons, handcrafted sea salt or carrot crackers. Don't laugh - these things are simply not available in Germany.
When it came to my birthday this year, she (my friend from denmark) came over and of course brought ab bag full of these danish specialties including the Albani MOSAIC IPA - brewed by the danish brewery "Albani Bryggerierne".
Look & Feel
Well, its a can like most of the IPAs I know, so the first look is medium nice, also the can design is not as colourful as I usually see them. But anyway - we'll give it a try! The liquid itself is yellow golden to orange - very beautiful!! Foam is medium dense, also slightly goldenish and disappears within an appropriate time.
Taste
Refreshing! The very mild taste has a proper beery character, although I couldn't find the fruity taste direction an IPA usually has (like grapefruit, pinapple or banana).
But due to its very fresh and mild taste I liked it anyway, especially after exercising. 5.7% VOL of alcohol is somewhere in the middle, and the taste feels exactly like this.
Of course also this tasting was supportet by a fair amount of Ice!
Ice, ice, baby!
