Flensburger Strand-Lager at the butchers place

Hi lovely beer friends - its time to start another entry for the Beersaturday Challenge!

The story:

I recently happened to visit my favorite butcher to pick up some steaks for my birthday party. There is a certain story behind: this butcher is also one of my best friends, thats why I usually pick up my orders directly at his house to also have a good time together. Like this time as well. Usually a "short visit" ends with some drinks round about midnight ...
As the late afternoon has been lovely summery he invited me for a beer and offered three tastes of one of the most popular brewerys here in the north.

Flensburger beer is not only well known for its strong and tangy flavor but also for the old school lid system and the "Plop" sound it makes when opened (wich is even said on the label).

Look and feel:

Since I never hade tasted the "Lager" and there was the word "Strand" (=beach) in its name I picked that and was positively surprised! The color was golden-cloudy and promising and the taste as fresh and mild as a bright lager is supposed to be. Especially when there is a "beach" in the name ;-)
The foam nearly had a perfect white color and was dense and long lasting. Its 6.2 % Vol of alcohol make it a middle-alcohol containing beer although it tastes more like a low alcohol version. So be careful not to drink too fast and too much because of its light appearance.

My pick for this afternoon: Flensburger Strand-Lager"

Dandegrischdines special:

It wouldn't be a dandegrischdine-beer-post when there weren't any icecubes involved. So here we go. Of course this fresh lazy-night-at-the-beach-beer for me has to come with some proper cubes of frozen water. @detlev don't you dare to complain.
