Llegó el día para mis excompañeros de clases, el acto de certificación como sous chef en cocina. Digo excompañeros, porque yo me retiré de clases por temas de salud, pero mantuve contacto con muchos de ellos y otros fueron compañeros de clases en pastelería. Me hicieron llegar una invitación especial y por supuesto que no podía perderme este momento importante para ellos y que me llena de orgullo el verlos crecer y lograr metas; sobre todo a mis amigas de confianza que han estado en las buenas y en las no tan buenas.
> The day has come for my former classmates to receive their sous chef certification. I say former classmates because I withdrew from classes for health reasons, but I kept in touch with many of them, and others were classmates in pastry school. They sent me a special invitation, and of course, I couldn't miss this important moment for them. It fills me with pride to see them grow and achieve their goals, especially my trusted friends who have been there through the good times and the not-so-good times.
Entre aplausos, cada vez que decían un nombre, con orgullo se escuchaban esos aplausos con fuerza. Yo siempre que visito el teatro municipal de Valencia, siempre he ido como persona que se está graduando o certificando, pero el estar del otro lado, me dio una magnífica vista y me hizo recordar buenos momentos, sobre todo cuando me gradué de ingeniero. Definitivamente, estos actos son el punto de cierre de tantos momentos que se viven y, sin menospreciar otras carreras u oficios, las evaluaciones de cocina o pastelería son de bastante estrés.
> Amidst applause, every time a name was announced, the applause rang out proudly and loudly. Whenever I visit the municipal theater in Valencia, I have always gone as someone who is graduating or receiving a certificate, but being on the other side gave me a magnificent view and reminded me of good times, especially when I graduated as an engineer. These events are definitely the culmination of so many moments that are experienced, and without underestimating other careers or professions, cooking or pastry evaluations are quite stressful.

Por supuesto que no podía faltar la comida y es que después de tantas horas, el cuerpo pide comida y también nos debíamos una celebración entre amigos. El año pasado no fuimos a comer en nuestro acto, pero esta vez no podíamos dejar pasar la oportunidad. Lo gracioso es que fuimos a KFC y entramos los 3 con el uniforme de chef y, por supuesto, las miradas no podían faltar y un comentario que dijo una señora: si ellos que son chef vienen a comer pollo KFC, es porque es bueno. Yo me reí bastante y es imposible negar que en KFC se come buen pollo.
> Of course, we couldn't miss out on food, because after so many hours, our bodies were craving food, and we also owed ourselves a celebration among friends. Last year we didn't go out to eat after our event, but this time we couldn't pass up the opportunity. The funny thing is that we went to KFC and the three of us walked in wearing chef uniforms, and of course, we got some looks, and one lady commented, “If they're chefs and they come to eat KFC chicken, it must be good.” I laughed a lot, and it's impossible to deny that KFC serves good chicken.
La buena compañía siempre estuvo presente, desde el camino hasta llegar a casa. Yo rápidamente los agarré a todos y les dije para tomarles fotos y demás. Algunos excompañeros me decían que les hice falta porque yo siempre estaba pendiente de tomar fotos, grabar videos cómicos y demás bochinches y con base en eso, en vez de ser un invitado y quedarme sentado, me fui detrás de bastidores y prendí la mecha para que todo fuera alegría y capturar esos momentos.
> Good company was always present, from the road trip to arriving home. I quickly grabbed everyone and told them to take pictures and so on. Some former colleagues told me that they missed me because I was always busy taking photos, recording funny videos, and causing a ruckus. Based on that, instead of being a guest and sitting around, I went behind the scenes and lit the fuse so that everything would be joyful and I could capture those moments.

Esta vida puede ser tan efímera y eso me ha enseñado a dejar ciertas cosas atrás y disfrutar cada momento, y este acto era un momento para disfrutar. Cada aplauso era sentido con cariño, cada persona disfrutaba de la compañía de personas especiales y, al final, la comida fue un momento de cierre, de celebración, de unión.
> Life can be so fleeting, and that has taught me to leave certain things behind and enjoy every moment, and this event was a moment to enjoy.
