I was outside early today to get my weekly long run in. However, it came with some pressure to get back in time for recovery and a shower for an important meeting. That made me push my pace more than usual for a long run. I found myself in Zone 3 during my second mile which was a long way to go. I slowed in the last 2 miles to achieve the result but I ultimately ran out of routes to go so stopped at an hour instead of the extra couple of minutes I wanted to get to.
It was a great feeling to feel so strong throughout the run although the initial warm up was rough on the legs and the sweat was very uncomfortable at the end despite continuing to add some gear and clothing to help. It made for a good early push to get to work and not think about more activity for the day. However, I did end the afternoon with some core training and stretches which were due for my program. Weekend and some travel are close!
